If Purgatory exists, I have a feeling you check-in with iTunes, and they will show an endless loop of Carpool Karaoke and Planet of the Apps on their TVs.

Haven't watched the free version. Won't be watching the paid for Apple version.

Planet of the Apps sounds cool though. Well at least it is a cool name.

This is so bad... Why would you take a stupid segment from a late-night show and develop it? They would have been better off making iTV for Apple TV with original content that can compete with Amazon Prime and Netflix. But this?

Hey Apple! Drop this Karaoke silliness altogether and give us a new no-nonsense Mac desktop computer (Power Mac G5 follow-up NOT a new trashcan)!

I like the segment on Cordon's late night show. I'll watch it. Not sure why all the hate; if you don't want to watch it then... don't. It's not going to be required or anything.

I agree.. A lot of hate here (well, kinda). Me and my gf both really like the segments. And yeah, it's not like it's required to watch it.. Jeez. A bunch on that list i would love to see! Metallica, Shaq(!) and Cena(!) to name a few.

If anyone honestly thinks this is taking time away from developing iPhones or similar, they're delusional. Not with the money and resources they have (Apple).

Apple has delayed the release of "Carpool Karaoke: The Series," its first original television series, reports Reuters. The series, which will premiere on Apple Music, was supposed to launch in April, but its debut has been delayed.

Apple was originally planning to hold a premiere party for "Carpool Karaoke" in March, but the party was postponed. The party was then supposed to take place on Monday, but it was again pushed back due to the show's delayed launch.

"Carpool Karaoke: The Series" is based on the popular Carpool Karaoke segment from "The Late Late Show with James Corden." Apple purchased rights to the show back in mid-2016 and showed off the first trailer for the series in February of 2017.

The show, composed of 16 half-hour episodes, will feature celebrity pairs "riding along in a car together as they sing tunes from their personal playlists." According to Apple, the show's stars will also "surprise fans" who are not expecting to see "big stars belting out tunes one lane over."

"Carpool Karaoke: The Series" will star James Corden, Will Smith, Billy Eichner, Metallica, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Ariana Grande, Seth MacFarlane, Chelsea Handler, Blake Shelton, Michael Strahan, John Cena, Shaquille O'Neal, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and more, with a different host for each episode.

Apple is aiming to drive more subscribers to Apple Music with "Carpool Karaoke," and the show, when it launches, will be available only to Apple Music subscribers.

Delay the show into the next god damn century

"Apple delays...."

It has the potential for the new company slogan

They can't release anything on time
How about, "It Just .......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Works".

Because of this I'm switching to Samsung.

I'm sorry to hear this, especially since you just purchased the Product Red 4.7 iPhone. I'm assuming you will purchase the S8? (Which is a great Android device) Are you going to sell your Apple Watch too? I know how much you liked the Sport rose gold version. Well, I hope you still frequent Macrumors. I always appreciated how knowledgeable you have been on here. Good luck with the transition Duck Sauce!

Its my own personal forum policing stalker. Nice to see you still care sweetheart.

You didn't answer my question. What was Scott's vision? I seem to remember iOS 6 getting lukewarm reviews (The Verge ran a piece called It's Always 73 and Sunny in Cupertino). If he had some grand vision for the future of computing or the future of Apple I never heard it. If you know what it was do share.

Think it through , the iPod ...... iOS ..... AppStore .... are you trying to tell me that the bloke who pushed those and whose team won the concepts had no vision?? Really?

hence why I asked your silly question with an equal silly question. What's cooks vision ? The penny drops..... when it comes to products and people having a vision we judge them on thier accomplishments .... so yet again tell me what accomplishments or proof you have Cook has a vision ?

Cause geez mate.... Scott had a few runs on the board when it comes to apple products .

If you ask silly questions, learn to answer them yourself . Even if jobs were around today , your question would be silly .... no **** no one other than himself could answer it, we would see it in the products though. Which leads me to cook.....

What's Cooks vision based on what had been released since he took over? Profit ?? Do tell... I see very aging apple products ...complacency and poor software around the beats deal.... though do tell. Or as I suspect you will just bail :)

Cook never pretended to be a visionary or a product guy. He's an operations guy who's done a fine job as CEO.

Bingo. You are spot on , Tim is going great at what he is good at, profits .

My point is that Apple needs someone to take product forward, it's not Tim, Scott cannot be labelled as not having a vision, as history speaks for itself.

When you create a workplace where everyone is happy and people agree , you don't always gets the best results. Job pitted teams against each other ....and you get results like the iPod and abrasive personalities that cause turmoil , but you also got results . Scott may have been a tool, but he also had some big contributions to apple and the devices we use. Tim using maps as an excuse , took the easy option.....and now the exec team is nice and fat....and complacent . Products also show this in my opinion. Current execs are just crusising it out to retirement and no risks, maximum profit and penny pinching, not a vision amongst them other then profit .... in my opinion .

I feel that Apple is really taking a wrong turn with Carpool Karaoke.

How about doing something more like Spotify Sessions (with video) that actually ties in to the overall music theme way more than driving around singing. Small, short 'concerts' of maximum 5-6 songs interspersed with a tiny bit of interview/chat with the band (not more than a minute or so) between each song. It would then work both with and without the video component - effectively being a 2-in-1 solution.

A great example of this is The Lowertown Line, a Minnesota based concert/interview show. Stumbled upon it on Youtube a while back and have become a big fan. This format would add a lot to Apple Music IMO if they were willing to throw enough money into it to make it a weekly thing focusing on both up and coming and already established artists.

Look here:

Well when your main focus is on IOS devices and then you finally up date your "PRO" MBP line with a touch control panel, over priced and other flaws in the consumers opinion, Carpool Karoke makes sense. This way you can CP to your new stores that are IMHO poorly designed.

Why do these mega corporations always think they know what's best for us, then I read on public forums and news aggregators about said decisions and it's always negative reaction? Where are they getting their information from and why is it always something that all of us hate?

See? This is what happens when people demand new a Mac Pro. They had to delay a show that is fundamental to the CORE of Apple... monsters, each and every last one of you. /s

But seriously, I wonder what caused the delay. It looks funny, and I've seen a few, so it'll be interesting to see what Apple does with this segment.

I mean, when James started doing these skits they were fun, but the novelty has come and gone. No need to make a whole series on it.
