I’m surprised that so, so few of us actually though that this is coming to the Pro lineup, and that’s one of the reasons why the camera bump has gotten so

I already pointed it out, but apparently most of the MR readers haven’t realized that it is a heat map being displayed. Even MR editors mention the iPhone 17 Pro colors, thinking the orange and blue colors are the hint. I don’t think so, I think this year we’re getting a thermal camera in the Pro lineup, as a differentiator of the Pro models, against the iPhone 17 Air, and the future foldable phones.

Also, if you think about it, a thermal camera could be a useful feature for many professionals, just like LiDAR was back in the day. Another reason for professionals to get the 17 Pro.
I would really like a sound detecting camera. I want to see heat spots where the sounds are this could be very useful.

Also a thermal cam would also be useful i admit i coukd have used a thermal cam a few times recently

Shame, the interactive marks don’t remain long enough to draw a penis. T.T.P. is perhaps infinite.
maybe, but just long enough to make the Apple logo look like a butt

I used to have a little toy when I was a kid, a clear plastic hexagon that was filled with some kind of oil. When you moved your finger over the back, it would change color like this logo. Or maybe this means Apple will be releasing its first mood ring.

I read earlier today on CNBC that a bunch of companies were incorporating orange into their marketing and social media in an effort to tie into Taylor Swift’s fan base. I guess it’s her favorite color or some such BS. Even Google is playing along - search Taylor Swift on Google and there’s orange confetti and an album promo. Maybe Apple’s in w the orange thing for that and dropped a $Billion freakin dollars on a Swift appearance to disguise the fact that there’s little there there with the new generation of iPhones/watches. I would not be shocked. Color me awed.

Reminds me of the Classic MacOS 7.x "About this Mac" Easter eggs.

Yes, visually very cool. But... kinda useless. And shouldn't they be working on much more important things?

Apple created a unique interactive Apple logo for its September 9 event, which can be interacted with on the main Apple.com website. The website currently features an animated Apple logo front and center, which changes when touched.

On an iPhone or an iPad, holding a finger over the Apple logo shifts it to a darker orange the longer you hold, and when swiping, the colors will change and follow your finger. On the Mac, you can use a mouse or a trackpad for the same effect.

The Apple logo for the "Awe Dropping" event is designed to look like a thermal map or the output that you might see on a thermal camera. The colors change from shades of blue to shades of orange, perhaps a nod to the new iPhone colors that are expected.

Rumors suggest the iPhone 17 Pro models could be available in orange and dark blue, while the iPhone 17 Air is expected to come in a light blue shade.

Apple used to do interactive augmented reality Apple logo designs that could be projected into the room with you, but the company stopped doing that in 2023. Since then, Apple has created animated Apple logos, some of which can be interacted with on the Apple.com website.

The upcoming September 9 event will see Apple unveiling new iPhones and Apple Watch models, and perhaps a new version of the AirPods Pro. It's set to take place at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

Nicely done.

Exactly, iPhone 18 with the first 2nm SoC will be a great moment to upgrade. If Apple releases an iPhone 18e with an A20 SoC in 2027, I could be replacing my awesome SE 3.

By the way, I’m also eagerly waiting that A17 Apple TV 4K…
