exactly. Why not advance it to a 4? It seems if the AW3 is their way of getting people to enter the ecosystem, it's only going to lead to hurt feelings a year or so from now. But then again, I work where I do and not in the strategy dept at Apple.
Because it would eat away the SE sales

The real question is: where can I get an Apple Watch 6 for over $100 off?

No interest in paying full price for an Apple Watch 6.07
Walmart has it for $50 off. I imagine retailers will discount even more as they try to clear out stock (but you might not get the color you want). Just last month the RED Edition Series 6 was $100 off at Walmart and Amazon.

Retailers are probably waiting for Black Friday to clear inventory.

What a marketing scam by the boys in Cupertino … come up with two new watch faces, slap them on last years watch .. stretch the screen 1mm and sell the hell out of it … discontinuing last years watch which is also this years watch .. you can’t make this s**t up!

You should read this Daring Fireball editorial on Apple's processes of innovating through small iterations year over year, and how they quickly and cumulatively add up to major improvements.

This is How Apple Rolls

If you're the type of person looking for a major breakthrough in every product every year, good luck finding that at Apple or elsewhere.

Ahh yes - Daring Fireball by John Gruber
Apple PR at its finest -- masquerading in the open, with some occasional light criticism to throw us off the scent.

Can't get too critical or that sweet sweet annual podcast with Apple executives might not happen.

"Nice podcast you got there John - be a real shame if our staff were no longer able to be on it!"

Since you gave me the thumbs down on my last comment, I'll address your comment directly - I am in the electronics manufacturing business by profession - I work for one of the most well known and respected Android device manufacturers globally - Innovation and advancing functionality is the name of the game in consumer electronics - being a cheerleader for one of if not the richest consumer electronics manufacturers in the world is not what I do - However, I love my Apple products, and I have invested into their ecosystem whole heartedly - but looking at the watch today, lack of customizable faces, battery life limits, form factors, etc. all go into my reasoning towards should I upgrade or not - one simply cannot argue that Apple has put an extreme amount of design and engineering prowess into this Series 7 - Lastly, I do not profess to be the God of all smartwatch design and production - this is simply one person's opinion about this years offering and nothing more.

In my opinion, Apple Watch should have a two year cycle. Improvements are too little every time.
Also, it would reduce pollution.

Truth. What the truck is going on in Cupertino? No innovation. Jeez...by now the Apple Watch should have been powered by a 100 year miniature radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG) using a gram or two of Pu-238 or Sr-90.

With that the Watch could have been marketed as having an all-life, never-charge, puck-be-gone battery. Tim Cook needs to go.

The AW isn't much of a traditional watch that you're falsely making an equivalence to, is it?

It's more like a mini computer that you wear on your wrist, which also shows the time
more specifically - the AW is the first major consumer watch that doesn't last days, if not weeks or months, on a charge. yeah yeah, a regular old timex watch can last years. but so many other smartwatch makers have figured out a way to get a charge to last SO much longer. apple's continued form over function just makes the AW unusable for me. go for a long run or bike ride and it's toast. have to charge it just to have it track your sleep - then wake up and charge it again to get through the day...? workout mid day and have to either bring a cord with or buy another cord to charge at work just to last rest of the day...? no, it's a lifestyle watch pretending to be a fitness watch and in either case fails a super basic battery life test that Garmin, coros, or any other number of manufacturers make. and since it has to sync to the phone and relies on consistent iPhone os and watch os updates to work becomes obsolete too soon. I got burned by an Apple Watch that couldn't last a 4 hour marathon after it was a year old...never again.

Smart move right now is finding a series 6 for $100-$200+ off

did that with series 4, series 5 was announced, and I got the stainless steel series 4 from best buy on black friday for like $429...

Poor triggered jealous people who click the disagree button like it means anything to anyone.
HA-ha... I made you all press the disagree button.
