I bought a 64GB SE for my wife about a month ago. She loves it.

I was thinking of replacing my 128GB iPhone 6s Plus with the smaller SE, but it didn't have a 128GB version.

I hate the 6 design, I thought it was an Android phone when I first saw it. But I bought one thinking I would like the larger screen, which I do when I am sitting and can have two hands on it.

As for a one-handed phone, the 6s plus is too big for me. Plus the rounded edges causes the phone to slip out of my hand. Trying to take one handed photos is a pain for me.

I hope the iPhone 8 will be similar to the 4s design. IMO, the 4s was Apple's best phone design, and still looks good when compared to every model since.

Man...this is getting tempting to "buy an extra one".

I simply despise the current form factors (non SE) & sizes.

I really really hope the SE showed Apple that there is room for a sub 4.7" phone in the iPhone 8 gen of devices.

The SE remains the best iPhone release of 2016..

I'm surprised Apple aren't making more of this - one of their most successful iPhone releases ever. I dont think they mentioned it yesterday.

I love mine as well. I still plan on getting a iPhone 7 Plus but the SE will be my on the go device. The Plus will just be too big for everyday usage outside of the home. It's basically my iPad replacement but can replace my SE when needed especially for the camera at special events.

Hallelujah and amen! This guy gets it! I'm so bummed we'll have to wait a year for a smaller phone to be released with upgraded internals. The SE is a glorified overpriced 5s with almost zero improvements save storage...that I bought and was pissed! Lol
[doublepost=1473356889][/doublepost]The only thing I care about first is actually storage. This is my camera now, this is my MP3 player and it also is my all my books and banking/life apps. I cannot stand deleting a pic to take a pic anymore and only have 1/5 of my music library on the harddrive, I would love a 128 to 256gb storage as first priority. The cloud service works like crap it literally takes 2 minutes at time to load a cloud stored photo or short video plus all the while robbing your precious Verizon data usage. :(

Tim Cook, I will give you an amazing advice for free.

There are 2 kinds of iPhone SE users:
  1. Users that prefer the smaller form factor and lower price. For those users, the 5se should start at 399 for 32GB of storage. They would sell like crazy without handicapping them, like the 16GB version.
  2. Users that don't need lots of storage, Tim Cook. They need a modern SE, they hate streaming services and the "cloud", they think that the iPod is dead and miss the classic, Tim. They are lunatics, and are willing to kill people with their teeth for this product, Tim. It must come with AAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL the storage, price be damned. For those, you should have 2*256GB, and price it at 1000$. it would be sold out, always.
:)
Slowly raising hand to self identify as the second group of user...

But... But... Here in Europe the price of the 64Gb SE remains the same! Pretty high at almost 600€

EDIT: my bad, I just checked that the 64GB has lowered it's price from 589€ to 549€. Not bad.

It's still to high honestly. It's prob 10% better than the 5s in performance and barely noticeable. If your upgrading from a 4s or 5, or this is your first iPhone/another broke-it's defintely the way to go. But I bought one release day months ago and shelled out then $499 and was pissed when in side by side to my 5s its was almost exactly the same, even literally the same screen and body!- except for much welcomed storage upgrade. And I promptly-like an idiot- washed my phone by accident and now use my 5s and I can't tell any major upfront differences which makes me pissed they're selling it at the price point without making the started $350 at 32gb and the 64 at $400 with the option of a 128 at its current price. It would then be a great fair buy. As of now I'm holding out for a 7 smaller release and praying God resurrects my corroded and washed original SE corpse :)

Talk about a kick in the face to everyone that purchased it on launch day (and in between)....less than 5 months ago. Tim has no idea what he is doing. He basically is saying the phone was overpriced from day one.

Screw you Apple!

Let me hasten to reassure Apple not everyone agrees.

I don't regard myself as kicked in the face for having purchased the SE. I'd do it again right now for the price before it was lowered. I'm one of the ones who was ready to revert to a dumb phone and an iPad mini instead of a smartphone of an inconvenient size. Love my SE. Sign me up for the iphone 8 4" model...

iPhone SE is a device that was old news from day one. SE has a lesser display, no 3D touch, a slower first generation Touch ID, lesser FaceTime camera, no barometer, old design, etc.
It also had a price point that was $250 less than the 6s at the same capacity. (As of yesterday pricing/capacity on both has changed so the comparison is messier now.)

So to call it "old news" seems unfair. As discussed ad nauseum in the infamous (and now closed) "missing barometer" thread, the SE is not and never has been billed as flagship device. It's 90% of the features at 65% of the price. It's Apple's first true mid-range phone.

I got that same "kick in the face" way back in 2000. I got a new Power Mac right after they were released. It took about a month for them to build/ship it and about a week after I got it, they bumped the processor speed on the model I purchased. Effectively saying, oh yeah, it was underpowered when we launched it.

Also, it was one of the first (maybe only) Macs to not have a headphone jack, sigh.

It took me a while to get past that, but that's the main reason I started frequenting MacRumors, so it didn't turn out all bad.

As someone who went from 6 -> SE I can say it feels like an upgrade all around. I would of happily paid up for the 128GB model.
Battery life, screen size and price makes the SE a real winner, I certainty hope Apple keeps a smaller phone in the lineup in the future.

Still...it's not cool.

Wow.

Now just add a 128GB model.

My guess is they're going to clear these out by March and introduce a new 4" 7.

But why drop the price now? This only encourages more lower end purchases, especially since this still has the headphone jack.

Don't see this helping Apple's sales figures.

Well, the only aspect of sales figures it would "hurt" is ASP (average selling price), overall units shipped is ostensibly a MUCH more important number; especially w/ that famous brand loyalty & ecosystem lock-in.
More important to get the user there in the 1st place.... THEN worry about getting the most $ out of them. ;0)

My point is that there should be a flagship iPhone 4-inch in the range. The next update next year can not be a 4th series of iPhone 5, it needs to be completely all-new. Not everyone wants a super sized phone, the original size screen was considered perfect.

I agree, but, given the choice of a 4" iPhone 5 with flagship phone features, and a 4" iPhone 6 with current flagship features, I personally would take the iPhone 5.

The 6 just looks and feels bad when compared to the 5.

Actually, I would prefer a 4" iPhone 4s as an SE model if I could choose.

It's quite literally one of the 3 fastest phones (along with the 6s and 6s+) any amount of money can buy, until the 7's are released and it's between 2 and 5 times faster than a 5s, depending on what you're measuring.

Love this phone, especially the price - nice to see Apple drop it further. My get through device till the 7, but the one handed operation and extended use time is so nice. Anyone that's having trouble on the price for a 6s I've pointed them to this (and its nice to be able to do that).

Hopefully with the 8 they go to a 3 size release that includes the 4, but in the mean time I'm glad the 4 inch form-factor got some updating love.

Strange this didn't get the bump to 32/128 GB storage - even the iPad Mini 2 went from 16-32 GB!

All I want is the SE with 7 internals and same cameras. Why can't this happen!!!
who says it can't? :)
Might be one up next?

Heh, guess I'm easy! I've always like the style of the iPhones but then again, I really don't care about bumps and antennae lines..I put it in a case and use it, done!

Great iPhone. I will be upgrading to the iPhone 7 shortly. But I will miss this Phone. Just slightly small for my needs.
i instead will keep my both iPhone's 6s Plus and iPhone SE and will get jet black iPhone 7 I love switching between sizes when i get a little bit bored of from current size i use,in the end i will have every iPhone size that apple offers :D

There is nothing wrong with that, you like what you like.

Although, the problems with the iPhone 6, 6s, 7 is not just visual things.

The squared edges of the 4 and 5 made the iPhone a lot easier to hold, especially with one hand. Having the power button on the top of the phone felt more natural than the side. I am always changing my volume settings with locking my iPhone 6s Plus.

There is also the camera bump, bendgate, soldergate, and touch disease.

While some of these issues could be fixed with a case, that just adds a bunch of new problems.

Actually Apple was reassured by selling a boatload of iPhone SE, even though I only bought one of them.

As for drinking the Kool-Aid: perhaps you and some others have been deluded into thinking that because you have no use for an iPhone SE, that means anything to the manufacturer or to happy consumers.

Sorry, with respect, exactly what are you taking about? iPhone SE does not have all of the specs the iPhone 6s.

iPhone SE is a device that was old news from day one. SE has a lesser display, no 3D touch, a slower first generation Touch ID, lesser FaceTime camera, no barometer, old design, etc.

Bring an all new 4" ceramic glass, no protruding camera, no antenna lines iPhone!

And for those of us that don't care about those alleged "features" and would actually like a phone that fits in our hands, the SE is exactly what we want.
