The reps at your RadioShack are probably idiots and are too lazy to look the product up in their computer. This sale is an in-store clearance sale so it won't show up on their website. If your local RS has some, then they should be on clearance there. If they don't have any then you're out of luck.

Thanks for clearing that up. I will call them and find out today. Also, the photo of the receipt someone put on the first page of this thread, the item number/UPC or whatever should be the same throughout all the radioshacks correct?

shucks, cant seem to use any of the dock adapters when using the case-mate ID case. i was using the video adapter and every now and then id get a popup saying charging isnt supported but once i took the adapter out the error hasnt happened, guess the contacts werent touching good enough, oh well the remote works great on my mbp and the dock works on the nightstand win win

here is a receipt pic for ohio (maybe will help with PM)

Thanks for that photo man! I managed to call a radioshack and had them check their system using that catalog number on your receipt and found the only location that had 2 left! I guess I better pick one if not both up before they are gone. I have at least one of the 2 on hold for me though :)

Just wierd, in such a big city I live in, one store in the city has 2 left.

I was able to pick up two of these at a Radio Shack in my area; however, the girl mentioned that they were on closeout because the new ones were coming out. She didn't know anything else about them so I'm wondering what is different about the new one. Maybe they just come with inserts for the iphone 4 and new ipod touch now?

picked up the 4 docks at my local radio shack in east lansing, mi. Using one at home, and thought the others would make great xmas gifts. Excellent find OP.

Wow that's a good idea, just picked one up. Should have got the other for a Xmas gift!

I'll have to check my local Radio Shack tomorrow to see if I can get in on this deal. I always wanted a dock for my phone and a remote for my mac.

I just want to say thanks to the OP for finding this great buy. I contacted (and visited) all 6 RadioShacks in my town (Modesto, Ca) and none had even heard of an Apple Universal Dock, just the iPhone 3G/3GS dock. So today I was in San Jose visiting family, and out of curiosity I decided to visit a RadioShack near my cousin's house right before I returned home, and low-and-behold, they had 2 in stock. I bought both (1 for me, 1 for my brother) and it came out to like $43 (less than the price of one). The sales rep says that the clearance will last wile supplies last, more could always arrive from the main warehouse, but more likely what is on the shelf could be it.

also, the Apple A/V Component Cable (Composite Cable is regular price) is on sale at RadioShack as well for $29 (normally $49), but this is only a sale price and that ends on Saturday Nov 6th. So what normally would have cost $100 for both, now just half the price.

I'll chime in that my local one had 3 of them in stock for the sale price, so I picked one up. Even though I really don't need a dock, I figured having an extra remote for my MacBook or AppleTV is worth it, and I get a dock with line out that doesn't get me the "this device is not compatible" error on my iPhone 4...

Here is my iphone 4 with Speck Pixel HD case on the dock, no adaptor. charge and sync work great. the remote can be used for changing tracks and volume. menu bottom does not do anything. control music remotely is great. docking the phone without taking off the case is even better.

I'm guessing the new docks will be airplay enabled: They'll function as airplay destinations when hooked up to a pair of speakers - just like a current airport express supports AirTunes. You'll be able to stream music to the attached speakers whether your iPod/iPhone is docked or not. Even better, you'll be able to stream music To the speakers from any Mac running iTunes.

Not such a stretch of the imagination, considering the ample $50 price point for the dock and the fact that airport express refurbs cost $70 and brand new apple TVs cost $100. $50 for a plain-old charging dock seems way overpriced.

That is my rumor. Consider it started :)

Ok so it fits in the dock with no adapter or are you saying it fits in perfect with your speck pixel hd on it?

it can fit with many cases without adapter. not perfectly of course. that is why there is adapter for each ipod/iphone. but without adaptor, it sync, charge, and play music fine without taking off the case every time, big deal to me. they sell adapter for iphone 4 if you want. but the phone has to be naked. my guess is that the adapter will make the phone fit perfectly and physically support it. without adapter, holding it down with force might break the connector on the dock.

I am using now and love it. I did not know playing music to external speakers is that easy.

Picked up one Monday (11/8/10) at the RS at Natomas Marketplace, Sacramento. Anyone local in town, that store still has 1 left; the store in Rancho Cordova is completely sold out.

BL.

1-- thanks to Burntreality for original post...great find. 2 -- thanks to ihonda for pic with cat number....helped clerk find at closest store. 3 -- thanks to saving107 for component cable find... Found those at same store.

So I was able to get both the dock and component cables at great price --- plus I saw a blu-ray remote for my ps3 marked down from $20 bucks to $5. Final tab = $55 plus tax for all 3. Awesome!!

this was definitely an awesome thread, RadioShack is not a store I frequently visit, so I'm glad I found this thread.
