You are right, the Red Cross should just send that money back to Apple and tell them they don't want it because Apple could have donated more. Likewise, everyone donating $10, $25 or $50 to the Red Cross could probably also donate more so the Red Cross should refuse all those donations as well (who doesn't waste more than $50 a year on coffee, beer or McDonalds?). Red Cross, just send all the money back - that will teach all those greedy donors!!!

Not really. As a disaster medicine expert, you'd be surprised at how money from various donations are spent from various organizations.
