What you mean is, I strayed from the thread title -
Yes a bit off topic but a good comparison of the pharma industry to Apple.
not what I described in the paragraph. Uncle Tim shouldn't be making donations to the orange one in any case
It’s his and Apple and the board business only. Nobody has the right to say they shouldn’t.
, but that's a different matter! God, you Americans are so stuffed!
And here we’re thinking the same about you guys!

Well, my honest feeling is sadness. My last visit to the US was to Minneapolis and it was very positive. I loved the people, the twin cities and the culture. It was very different from visiting Pennsylvania in a small town called Mansfield way back around 1975.
I have a big investment in all things Apple and I understand why Tim did what he did. I like to think his heart wasn't in it. Good luck to you and yours. We see the world rather differently but it would be boring if we were all the same.

I see you’ve graduated from calling a whole countries citizens “stuffed” to acknowledging people h{can actually have different opinions.

Also, your country has an illegal/immigration problem the same or maybe worse than we have right. Whether you realize it or not people that use free government services but aren’t adding anything back in is a drain on the system. I read what you wrote, but I’ve talked to many many others that say it’s failed them including my own family members. Good luck.

We must agree to disagree. Right now I’m just glad not to be living in a country with guns and a leader who is a fascist but, there you go, each to his own.

Shame on Apple.

Sure, if you actually knew what a fascist was and how they operate you would see it was the democrats that tried to jail their political opponents. There you go.
I don't care what they did. What's going on now is infinitely worse. Anyway, you enjoy it, I'll stay well clear.

If you actually knew what a fascist was, you'd realize that it is by definition a far right ideology. So accusing a liberal of being a fascist is like accusing a pig of being a cow.

I certainly don't want to live in a country where politicians and billionaires are above the law. Weird that small government conservatives don't believe that.

I can certainly get on board with that statement as a "small government" conservative. At the extremes, fascism and communism are indistinguishable. Both depend on a large centralized powerful government that, by definition, must trample individual liberty to exist.

No they're not. They're both bad, but are certainly distiguishable. Not need for bothsidesism.
I actually said indistinguishable, which they are, in that they depend on a large centralized powerful government, which by definition, tramples on individual rights.

There is no communist and/or fascist regime in history that stood on the principles of small, limited scope, government as neither could function.

That is complete myth. For years Nazis in the US have relied on "states rights", taking control of a state at a time to advance their fascism. Since reconstruction, "states rights" were used to obliterate the will of the majority and the rights of minorities. Fascism in the US relies on a gutted weak impotent centralized government run by idiots overseeing a network of individually powerful fascist states. It is far cheaper to buy and control a state than it is a country. Especially when it's against the will of the majority of voters.

Nonsense. As a preliminary matter, just because you raised it, "states rights" is not an ipso facto a call to facism. To argue otherwise is a complete diregard of Federalist papers and the debates surrounding the American founding.

But more to the point, a political ideology by itself is impotent politically without controlling the levers of goverment -- the more levers controlled the more power. An extremist ideology (fascism, racism (KKK), communism, Islamic fundamentalism, etc) needs even more control in order to quash popular dissent. It does not, indeed cannot, work reverse. So your example is inapposite. Racists in southern states post reconstruction were not powerful enough to perpetuate power ... as was made clear historically. Stalin, Mao, and Hitler were different precislely because they fully controlled their large and powerful recpective goverments.
