Seems to have been reflected in the refurbs as well. Now the most expense refurbs are under $4500 instead of over 5k. Now if they'd only list 2019 models. I'm tempted to try one and see if it's any better for bootcamp gaming than my 2017 15inch Pro.

On the downside of things resale value for all machines just dropped a bit. :(

Anyone remembers what the 1TB SSD upgrade used to be on iMac on the Canadian store? Please

Ignore the man who hasn't had his coffee.

They also dropped the 128GB option for the Mac Mini. Maybe others but I didn't check...

When I configure it (iMac) with my education discount, 1tb ssd upgrade is +$270. Not bad compared to how things were.

Alongside a refresh of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro this morning, Apple has also dropped the price on high-end storage upgrades across the Mac lineup. This includes the iMac, iMac Pro, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and even the soon-to-be-discontinued Mac Pro.

For the most part, 1TB SSD upgrades have dropped by $200 on the iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini; and 2TB SSD upgrades have dropped by $400 on the Mac mini and MacBook Pro. The ultra high-end 4TB SSD upgrade for the MacBook Pro has dropped by $1400.

For the iMac Pro, 2TB SSD upgrades have been marked down by $200, while the 4TB SSD upgrade has dropped by $1200.

The updates continue into the old Mac Pro as well, with the 1TB upgrade dropping by $200. Apple has also removed the 64GB RAM option for the Mac Pro from its store, and made this model only available in 16GB and 32GB options.

Head to Apple.com to see more of the changes to high-end upgrades on the Mac.

MacBook “pro” starts with 128GB storage! Not very pro like. At least they are taking baby steps.

How fortunate that I didn't order yesterday, especially as I convinced myself to go with 2 TB SSD. :)

Or is this already a closing sale for the iMac? :p

Get on the military storefront and any new option introduced today shows as $0. I was able to place an order for a base Air with maxed out options for the base price. I even got the receipt and order confirmation showing maxed out options for the base price. Unfortunately about ten minutes later my order reflected the right price.

As of writing this the prices on any new option introduced today (including the new storage options on models that weren’t refreshed) are still showing $0 on the military store.

I got so excited and then my hopes were crushed.

Maybe the 'new' Apple we've been waiting for is finally showing up for real.
It can’t be linked to the departure of Jony Ive. Something is happening inside Apple.
I was thinking the changes could have something to do with Ive’s departure myself. I don’t think he had anything to do with costs, but the component costs he wanted drove the prices up.

Or maybe with the recent changes in operations, the company is taking a closer look at pricepoints and redundancy (12-inch Macbook).

Maybe so. Maybe someone was shifted to take Ive’s role, another one shifted to take the role of the first guy and so on. And one of them came up with the idea to cut prices. Who knows. I’m not even trying to analyze that mess which actually seems to be kind of a mess after reading recent reports. But something is going on.

Great, Apple brought down the prices from Ridiculously Expensive to super expensive. Prices are still expensive compared to top brands SSD in the market.

Apple should stop with the gimmicky marketing tactics of shipping a MBP with 128GB SSD. That is pathetic.

Apple should make all its computer RAM and SSD user upgradable and stop nicking and dimming by charging ridiculously expensive storage and RAM pricing and stop releasing disposable appliances.
