And even if I was talking about just me, does that mean I am the only person on the entire planet that can accomplish this? I have proven that working from home has significant benefits. And actually many members of our team have had the same level of increased productivity. So no, its not just me. But I can only speak from experience so sometimes I need to state things that I have done.

While I am neutral to the WFH situation, being a software engineer does not mean that other software engineers’ work environment or processes are the same.

While some may have their best ideas under the shower, others, like Apple stated, may have theirs in the doorway or when running into each other at the coffee machine.
I think both parties just need to sit together and have a good and reasonable talk with open cards on the table.

If running into people in the doorway or coffee machines is that critical for businesses like people on this site keep saying, why does Apple even have remote work options available? Pre-COVID I applied for a senior level position and it was fully remote. Why are some developers in India?
