Following the launch of iOS 8 to the public yesterday, Apple employees in Cupertino are working to locate and remedy iOS 8 bugs that are popping up. As described by one Reddit user, the company has a "War Room" at Apple where employees are tracking down issues on social media.

After installing iOS 8 yesterday afternoon, Reddit user Kiggsworthy tweeted about a problem he was having with Family Sharing. Shortly afterwards he was contacted by an Apple employee on Twitter, who requested details about the issue.

According to the employee, Kiggsworthy was experiencing a bug the team had been attempting to track down, but couldn't reproduce, but his experience was able to help them solve the problem and push a fix to other users.
Turns out it was some subset of iTunes content that was uploaded over 8 years ago in a bad format that Family Sharing wasn't playing nice with. They now know what bad content to look for and are going about putting re-encoded versions of all this media on their servers so that people will not get this error going forward.

I was telling him how surprised and impressed I was with this service, given how busy a day Apple was having, for them to just see something I tweeted (I don't even have 300 followers) and follow up with me so quickly. He said that they had a "War Room" at Apple trawling through social media and everything they could find looking for anyone having issues (particularly with Family Sharing) so they could address them ASAP.
Earlier this month, Bloomberg writer Adam Satariano detailed a program that Apple runs for iOS devices, called early field failure analysis (EFFA), which helps the company fix bugs almost as soon as they originate. It appears there's a similar program in place for iOS 8, with the company aiming to solve issues as quickly as possible.

Apple employees on the early field failure analysis team and those working on iOS 8 will likely be working overtime this weekend as the first iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices with iOS 8 installed will be in the hands of customers tomorrow.

iOS 8.0.1 coming sooner than we expect. I'd now expect 8.0.2 to come with :apple:Pay enabled.

BL.

Please provide an option to disable the 'Recently Deleted' section in the Photos app, pretty annoying.

in that case i am gonna hashtag the beep out of #fixrecentlydeleted and #bringcamerarollbacku********sapple

I think its great that they're being this proactive and aggressive in searching for and attempting to fix bugs so quickly.

Glitchy, Slowee...

Dear Apple, could you please also fix notes? I love the feature of being able to paste a photo into my note. However, it is glitchy and sometimes the entire note's content disappears while I am inputting information. My phone is also running a bit slower now too. I have an iPhone 5. Thanks and great job overall with the launch! I love the new features!!

That sounds like a pretty powerful program. What they should have done is sent out word as to what # to use when complaining about something or when having a bug, would make them easier to track. like #iOS8Bug.. no.. wait... i just got done reading some youtube comments, that would probably make it harder to find real bugs.. lol

Be nice to have to option to remove some of the Apple apps. I have at least 8-10 apps that I will never use, but Apple insist they stay. Great job them searching social for iOS 8 bugs.

I just put all I don't use in one folder and move it to the last screen. Not quite deleting, but they're out of the way.

There is a bug on ios 8 on the ipad that when you take a photo horizontal the camera app turn vertical

Please allow me to remove or hide Tips

Would rather have the option to make Tips **** off. And some more settings panes. Too many things tugged away under General.

Some fonts look really ugly with bold fonts enabled too now.

And Zoom is broken again. Had very similar issues in the early days of iOS 5 (I think 5... Maybe 6.)

It would be nice if they fix the ipad 3, which is now running super slow

It reminds me of what ios7 did to the iphone 4

Fix the music app artwork and meta data bug! In the space of 9 days they've killed the iPod Classic and killed the music app!

I registered JUST to adress this issue...WHY remove the pics or album from CAMERA ROLL!! I'm a photographer and have THOUSANDS of pics (organized) in my phone. Now instead of going to camera roll to see pics I took with my iPhone or pics from online, they're MAKING me going through ALL my pics that I've ever taken with phone/DSLR/etc!!!! Common Apple please fix this. When I went to facebook to put up a pic, went to camera roll and there were only a few "recent" pics, and have ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to access the rest of the pics I used to have on my camera roll.

Great to see Apple taking their software seriously. If only they'd allow the removal/hiding of default apps. The amount is getting silly now.
