Camera Roll + PhotoStream = Recently Added

This was not explained very well, thus the confusion. When iCloud Photo Library is out of beta, PhotoStream will no longer exist. All photos will be automatically uploaded and stored for cloud access on all of your devices (think unlimited PhotoStream).

If this is the case, I don't really want to update ever. I just want a camera roll, no iCloud stuff.

I am not talking about the notifications. I'm talking about the app itself. I want to hide it from the home screen, or completely get rid of it.

----------

Why is it a problem for the sight impaired? I've got around 15% sight and can easily disable and enable wi-fi in seconds. VoiceOver is brill still. Although Zoom is having problems on iOS 8
You can just put it in a folder with the rest of the Apple "extras" that get installed.

I hope they can fix the IMessage bug. I can only send regular sms texts.
Have you tried disabling and re-enabling iMessage?

----------

I've been along with others seeing pretty heavy battery drain. I have BG Refresh off so I don't know what's doing it. It's a substantial drain though. Near Android levels.
Have you tried checking if anything is using location? Perhaps killing all apps and restarting? Maybe even resetting network settings if not all settings? Down to perhaps reinstalling even.

It's a bug when you absolutely have no way of getting any of those pictures you used to have to post on social media.

It's a goddamn bug. 3rd party apps that have not been updated can only see the Recently Added album, so you can't use any picture older than a month.
They have no option to use Moments. There is absolutely no access to every photo.

It is a bug.

You two are talking about the "Recently Added" album. The OP is talking about the "Recently Deleted" album.

I could see people having issues with the Recently Added album replacing their Camera Roll and breaking some apps, but who could complain about the Recently Deleted album?
You barely ever see it and yet it adds functionality to iOS that has been needed since the beginning!

EDIT: I misread, I thought it was about the Recently Added, not deleted.

It is about that. They switched the Camera Roll for Recently Added. HORRIBLE!! No access to old pics from third party apps or social media, AND personally i have to scroll through every picture i have in photo albums that i've shot with other things like dslrs, gopros.

correct i could care less about the "Recently Deleted" thats just an addition lol.

Apple, the company that tracks down bugs on twitter, but ignores the bugs developers reported in the bug tracking tool and on the developer forums for months....

I'm shocked to hear there is 8-year old code in iTunes. (I know nothing about coding, programming, or the like). No wonder the app seems so bloated (he said, fairly confident the two could have nothing to do with each other)

Bluetooth

So far I've been very happy with iOS 8. The one thing that isn't working right for me though is Bluetooth. In my car, when the phone rings it rings through Bluetooth into the car, but cannot be answered. I can answer the phone on my phone, but if I want to use my car the audio won't come through and the phone perpetually rings ... anyone have any solutions?

Mein Führer, I can bug fix!

I just put all I don't use in one folder and move it to the last screen. Not quite deleting, but they're out of the way.

You and I think alike in that respect. I have done that exact same thing. But it would be nice to remove them and clear up the space.

Dear Apple,

Restarting phone nor killing messages app brings the keyboard back/up in group messaging on my wife's iPhone 5. Please fix so I dont have to hear it all night! It's only for her group message and not single contact messages.

For the war room:
Some album art disappeared such as abbey road. These are itunes purchased and itunes proper albums. I never customized the album info or anything.

Also IMessage keyboard use is flakey. As in several space bar taps to get a space. I am using native keyboard without QuickType (disabled).

Lovely release keep up the good work.

I think this is great on Apple's part. I'm glad they are proactively looking to make iOS 8 even better.

Most companies, mine included, have something like this set up after a major release. Although, my customers are internal and we have dedicated phone & email support.

Just goes to show how devoted Apple's engineers are in fixing issues with their software. :) Won't see Google doing that.
Most larger (and even smaller) consumer facing companies often do things of this nature. Not uncommon or odd at all, just not always made into articles really.

dear apple engineers if you are reading this, good morning/afternoon/evening, when you are writing an email and press the + button to add a contact from your contacts the first name in the list is half obscured by the search field.

What device is that on? Perhaps a screenshot?

Turns out it was some subset of iTunes content that was uploaded over 8 years ago in a bad format that Family Sharing wasn't playing nice with. They now know what bad content to look for and are going about putting re-encoded versions of all this media on their servers so that people will not get this error going forward.

I find this interesting from a completely different perspective. Badly formatted content exists on iTunes servers, and it is more than 8 years old. An effort is underway to identify similar badly formatted content, re-encode it, and push it out to their servers…

…so maybe I'll get lucky, and iTunes Match will finally match some of my 100+ Protected tracks it still doesn't like. I purchased all of them via iTunes (c. 2003-2006) and some of them are from albums that have successful matches on other tracks.

Maybe the formatting problem that made Family Sharing choke is the same thing that's been making iTunes Match choke on certain tracks. One can hope! :D
