What condition is your phone in? did you have the battery replaced? The battery is at a point in lifecycle where it should be replace. Once that is done, the phone is like brand new.
I learned my lesson earlier this year with my iPhone X... swollen battery, cracked under the screen. Got an iPhone 12. I want to keep it until the 14 or even 15, so I guess next year I'll replace the battery.

Apple today announced that it will be holding a special event on Tuesday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.

apple-california-streaming-event.jpg

As with WWDC and last year's fall events, this new event will be held digitally with no members of the media invited to attend in person. Apple will likely provide pre-taped segments for each new product that's announced.

Last year's September event focused on the Apple Watch after the iPhone was delayed until October, but this year, things are back to normal. We're expecting Apple to announce new iPhone 13 models, the Apple Watch Series 7, and possibly the AirPods 3.

New MacBook Pro models and new iPads are also on the horizon, but Apple is expected to hold multiple fall events this year so we're not likely to see everything come out in September.

Apple's iPhone 13 models will be similar to the iPhone 12 models with few design changes. Apple is planning to release a 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, a 6.1-inch iPhone 13, a 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The general design will be the same, but we are expecting a smaller notch. There will also be some improvements to the cameras, with Apple bringing sensor-shift optical image stabilization to the whole iPhone 13 lineup, introducing a better Ultra Wide camera for the Pro models, and improving the cameras of the iPhone 13 Pro to bring it in line with the Pro Max.

A faster A15 chip is coming, along with faster 5G technology, and perhaps the biggest change might be the 120Hz ProMotion display expected for the Pro models. There have also been rumors of an always-on display, so that's a possibility, as are larger batteries and more maximum storage space. We have details on all of the rumors that we've heard about the iPhone 13 in our roundup, so check that out to see exactly what to expect.

As for the Apple Watch Series 7, we're expecting the first redesign that we've seen in years. The new Apple Watch could have a flat-edged design that better matches the iPhone models, and it could be thinner with more available display space.

A new lamination technique will bring the display closer to the front cover, and casing sizes are expected increase to 41mm and 45mm, up from 40mm and 44mm. A faster S7 chip is expected, and there could be a bigger battery, but there are no new health sensors coming this year.

Apple's manufacturing partners are reportedly having production difficulties with the new watch, so we could see a bit of a delay in availability or very tight supplies at launch.

The third-generation AirPods that are in the works are expected to have a design that's closer to the AirPods Pro, and silicone tips are a possibility.

The new AirPods will have shorter AirPods Pro-like stems, but will continue to be a more affordable option without Active Noise Cancellation.

Apple plans to stream the fall event live on its website, on YouTube, and on the Apple TV through the Apple TV app. Apple today made the YouTube livestream available ahead of the event date.

For those unable to watch, MacRumors will be providing full event coverage both on MacRumors.com and the MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

Noticed all the talk about Wifi 6 stopped a few weeks ago so guess that got cut from the 13.

10am I'm busy so I'll miss the dog and pony show and catch the highlight film later. Let me guess pre-orders start a week later and shipping in late October.

I would bet pre-orders will start 9/17 with delivery beginning 9/24.

WHY is it believed that only the iPhone 13, the Apple Watch 7, and the AirPods 3 will be introduced next week. Why would Apple want to bore us to death with another AirPods when it could get us really excited with a new thin bezel larger screen iPad Mini. An AirPods 3 press release just prior to the main event would make more sense.

It's a form factor change for the base Airpods so it makes some sense. iPhone and Watch will be the big bits just like a usual early/mid September announcement. If an iPad mini refresh is coming it could also be brought up here I suppose.

Just an Apple Watch Just an Apple Watch just an Apple Watch just an Apple Watch just an Apple Watch just an Apple Watch just an Apple Watch….be strong!

About the lake representation

I think they are telling Intel subtly that they are not interested in their lake processors they have their own. (Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake processors are due Nov 19)

Which implies you ain't seen nothing yet.

Anecdotal but neither my wife and I are vaccinated and we haven't changed our lifestyles at all. I still workout in a packed gym near daily, we fly every couple of months - mainly between Florida and Texas. I do not wear a mask unless mandated and we even stayed with friends of ours in Mexico for a week who we didn't know at the time had Covid. Neither of us has been sick.

My parents have been double vaccinated in the UK and both fell sick afterwards. The vaccine isn't effective in preventing transmission, only at reducing symptoms?

You know what returned life to normal here in south Florida? Everyone stopped listening to the media and got on with their lives. I've pretty much forgotten Covid was a thing. If I get sick and die then so be it. I'm not cowering in fear for the next decade while my civil rights are stripped away forgetting to enjoy life. We even spent time in the beach with a fair number of people this weekend, I didn't see a mask in sight.
I did not think common sense existed in tech blogs. Good for you. Some people do not realize the size of the Silicon Valley bubble.

I'll take a wild guess and say "California streaming" will focus on Apple TV and Apple TV +.
Naaa, most people stream content to mobile devices, which implies new iPhones and more likely now new iPads.

I do use several Apple TV 4Ks, but this event is usually focused on iPhones/Watches usually and it wouldn't be that surprising they release new iPads at the same time. Maybe the 6th gen iPad mini!

I hope the story behind this tagline is:
  • Someone at  excitedly suggested 'California Streaming' as an event title way back when in-person events were first paused
  • The decision-makers at  were all "no, it's a bit too punny/Dad-joke…"
  • And then this year when events remained online-only, they relented like "oh go on, then! ( Legal can deal with The Mama's & The Papa's)"
