Nope. “Peek” is defined to be furtive. No way Apple starts off its glasses by associating them with that concept.
Perhaps. I guess we'll "see" on the 8th. ;)

If anything, thanks for making me look up what "furtive" means. I always welcome the opportunity to further my English language knowledge (not my first language). :p

1 (internal) + 1 (external) = 2
Yes, but the last Intel MacBook Air and 13” Pro supported 2 external displays in addition to the internal display. I think that is also a requirement to claim full Thunderbolt 4 support. M1 does not. I’m curious whether the M2 will bring this back.

Seeing a lot of discounts or bundles for the M1 Air, makes me think M2 Air or something similar at that price point is coming.

If it makes you feel better, I dare guess that at least half of English-speakers also don’t know what ”furtive” means.

There is always something new and better, but do we really need it?
short answer: YES

maybe you don't need new and better right at it release, but you eventually would need the next iteration of the product, and if it wouldn't be a new and better one in short term, there wouldn't be a new one in long term, so in the future, when you personally need a better one, there wouldn't be any.

new and better sometimes means real time traffic in Google Maps or 24/7 GPS tracking for kids or needed people, huge offline maps for hikers, or all day battery for those who really need them, better AI for cameras for video-makers/journalist/professionals…

I mean, maybe most of the people dont really need new and better for just having fan with the last Instagram filter, but all those who really need tech for better life, are taking advantage of those who dont really need it.

in a normal basis, if you upgrade you phone every year with the latest model just because you like it… then that's OK if you can afford that and your life is not affected in other way

I am still confused by the naming of the silicon chips. Didn't Apple just promote the M1 Max chip as the best chip ever on the market less than half a year ago? Now they are already releasing a M2? Does that mean the M2 will be better than the M1 Max since it has a "2" in the name or does it simply imply the next generation of the "regular" M1 and the M1 Pro and Max will still be better than the M2?
The M2 will probably have a better single-core performance than the M1 Pro/Max, but worse overall multi-core and GPU performance. Still, I think it may be too early for an M2 release, especially since some of Apple's computers are still using Intel CPUs.

Reading comprehension is hard...! ;^p

Seriously though, "Peek performance"...

Peek as in sneak peek; performance as in, well, performance...

So a peek at the forthcoming (full preview at WWDC, release in September) smaller ASi Mac Pro...?

Maybe we get the M1 Pro/Max Mac mini & 27" iMac at this event, that would cover the two desktops in the filing thingie...

As for the laptop, maybe Apple kills the M1 13" MBA/MBP (getting rid of the Intel-era chassis & the Touch Bar), replacing them both with a M1 14" MacBook; checking off the laptop in the filing thingie...?

Or maybe Apple just goes for it and announces (alongside the M1 Pro/Max Mac mini & 27" iMac) the M2 14" MacBook next week...?

So we get two of the three remaining Intel Macs sorted, with the final ASi Mac previewed, transition basically complete; allowing the M2 laptop to be released before all M1 ASi Macs are available to the public...?

Which ultra-wide monitor you got?
Dell 5K2K 40" U4021QW. No big Dell fan here at all but wow, the expansive work space is terrific... much better than my dying 27" iMac.

Feeding it with my aging MBpro which can't even come close to fulling pushing the pixels, but even with too little, scaled up, it's definitely a productivity booster. However, I obviously look forward to a new Mac Mini that CAN make full use of all 5K2K.

Come on! Peek Performance - It seems obvious to me what the star of the show will be:

I'm thinking Monitors (mini LED) at 120Hz variable rate. Smooth look and feel for the desktop users - that's "peek and performance"

That's not bad, and what would be great to release alongside Apple displays...? M1 Pro/Max Mac mini desktops...! ;^p
