Hopefully it’s not going to be something where they announce the phone, watches, AirPods, etc. and release just the watches and AirPods in September but push the phones to November for 18.1 to release with Apple intelligence
Zero % chance of that occurring. They wont hold up releasing based on 18.1 and miss out on two months of iPhone sales.

iOS makes Apple zero in revenue...

I sure hope the new phones don't make my antiquated 13 obsolete.

I used to update every 2 years. Phones have just gotten less and less exciting and don't do anything that actually improves anything for me. Not a fake photographer so no need for the new cameras. Everything runs and loads fast. Face ID, Apple Pay, Youtube, Safari, they all work really well. Even though I could upgrade through work I don't see any benefits to it so just keep opting out to save the hassle of a new phone.
As Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi would say, “No AI for you!"

I expect this to be a boring release, but I'd be happy to be surprised

Wonder what all this 'glow' is all about.

Great. Can’t wait to buy almost the same iPhone as last year, and the year before that, and the year before that…

I had my iPhone 7+ until I upgraded to the 14 Pro Max. Not sure why people have to update every year or two. The devices now are so close in features despite the marginal speed bump. I guess keep with the Joneses.
Trade in value, I get a new phone for 50% or more off.
