Not 22 Feb but possibly 1 March

Apple Insider have briefly run a story (Inside Info) to the effect that SJ and Bono are going to be holding an event on 1 March. However the story seemed to be pulled pretty quickly so I'm not sure whether this means it was quickly discredited or was true and Apple jumped on them.

I'm guessing the Apple iDeath Ray ;)

Listen to music, it has an Intel inside, fits in the palm of your hand and it instantly vaporises anyone people you don't particually like

I don't see Apple doing dual battery slots. It would take away from the clean look they always try to get and of course add money to a low end laptop. If you could find a way to get by both of those then maybe but I don't see it happening.

I doubt that's the reason, it is not like the existing PBs have batteries that are oh so flush with the rest of the computer, or have lids that close down nice and flat, nor will they warp ever....

In case you still don't get it, I was being sarcastic :p

didn't they have dual batteries in the pismo??? I'm not saying if you only have one battery, then there's a big hole unless you put in a second one.l
Yes, Pismo sure did have dual battery slots and it was fantastic, I really miss that with today's PowerBooks. With two batteries in my Pismo I could get around nine hours of constant use with the screen at full brightness, back in the pre-OS X days when battery life didn't suck. But, the second battery replaced the CD-ROM drive, so you couldn't use it at the same time, although it was nice to be able to choose (95% of the time I'd rather have a second battery inserted instead of a CD/DVD drive). Also, it came with a little fascia insert in case you wanted to save weight by leaving out a battery but not have a big gaping hole in the side. Another great thing about the Pismo's battery design is that they slid right out and in from the computer's natural position, no need to sleep the computer and flip it over to change batteries. I sure wish Apple would reconsider the dual-battery design, I just don't see it happening.
