I downloaded a prepaid eSIM on my 13 mini here in Australia just by going to one of our local carriers website. It literally took 5 minutes.
Lossless over Bluetooth? How?So no lossless audio? Or did I miss that part of the keynote?
They don’t have to justify anything. And you don’t have to spend or upgrade. It is a new iteration with improvments.
I can’t wait to see how often entitled ******s will be trying to use this “emergency service” to send texts in areas with no service.You use the satellite service.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. It has a physical sim slot and 1 eSim slot. The 13 Pro max has 1 physical and 2 esim slots.
Basically, you run your US carrier the way you always do so in the case of new phone in eSim slot 1. Esim slot 2 you then activate an eSim from an app like Airalo or dozens of others. Esims can be downloaded via apps, scanned via QR codes, or provisioned via manually typing in some info. You can have literally dozens of inactive eSim profiles. However you can only have two sims active at a given time. One for voice, one for data.
Worked great for me on a recent overseas trip. I had my voice line on Visible at the time (testing it out) which didn't support any roaming. For data I downloaded an eSim for the country. The iPhone automagically used the data connection of the eSim line to enable a pseudo "wifi calling" for my Visible data line. I was able to keep using my iPhone as I do at home making and receiving voice calls, as well as sending texts and using data. Was brilliant.
While stateside, I'm using T-Mobile on the physical sim and Visible (verizon) on the eSim. This gives me coverage everywhere. If one carrier has no coverage and the other does, everything fails over. It is great.
Euro prices are insane! 999 Euro for the cheapest new iPhone (14).

A few on Twitter mentioned - guessing "AR Glasses" Teaser, many others are saying it was a "Severance" reference. (I've never seen the show)
Yeah it’s going to hit sales I hope. Not the time to be adding to price increases and it will now be the difference between upgrading and not for many.
That would be better, I am on upgrade program anyway….. but paying a subscription for such a feature worries me
Well the expectation is that euro is going to keep on falling the coming months, and Apple's prices factor that in.

Yeah i was happy it didn't go up but it has by about 100 I think for the pro max. That sucks man.
I have always thought that if Steve Jobs was alive he would either be a mentor to Musk or would not like Musk. We just had the iPhone event that happens every year that this time, whether we like what is coming out or not. Musk is known for over promising, under delivering and being very very late. Musk will go down in history as an innovator, but Tesla needs a grown up CEO.
