All these camera features that 90% of the buyers never use. How about making a phone with a lot less feature rich camera and make it considerably cheaper for people? Then make a camera plus version with all those features. Why should 90% of the people pay for something they are never going to use?

wifi 7 is nothing to most people. The battery and thermal improvements are potentially much more exciting if they are as good as promised.

I see why Google went a month early this year. The base iPhone 16 can play PS4-level games whilst the top Pixel 9 XL can barely squeeze 30fps out of Genshin Impact. And crucially Apple didn’t put the prices up either.

13 Pro Max user here. I don’t know what Apple could do at this point to compel me to upgrade this was… sad

Soooo. Nothing that really inspires me to upgrade from my 15PM. *Slightly* bigger screen, but that’s a marginal difference. If I do it, it would be for that. Not sure it’s worth it. I still get Apple Intelligence with my current phone.

I will say it was too long. Maybe they should do it like WWDC and have a separate event for those who want to go deeper into camera updates.

They really don’t want folks buying the Pro unless they video work. It’s a total failure to read the room and offer a compelling set of qualities that 90% of people will use. They did the opposite in fact

I'm a pro photographer... I just want a purple iPhone like the one they did two years ago.. Features are already so goddamn good I don't need anything on offer this year...

I actually use the 15 mounted to my SLRs and take a photo with it whenever I take an SLR photo... Last year, one of my best angle SLR photos was blurred so I replaced it with the photo from my iPhone 15... Client didn't even blink.

Everything is better in Purple.

So pre orders Friday. i haven’t pre ordered since iPhone 14. Is It still the same process? Log in at a certain time and go through checkout? Or is there a pre-pre order thing you can do?

Yup. Biggest change in recent years is the ability to pre-select everything you want a few days ahead so when pre-orders go live you just have to load your saved order, click submit and you're done.
