Technically this is smaller, just not in the right dimension.
That camera bump on the Air is ginormous. Certainly higher than I though it would be.
This is so corny. It's a thin phone. Probably easy to slip out of the hands now too.

Apple says they don’t sell your data. They don’t say they don’t use your data.
I am not sure who is asking for super thin phones with a camera pill / bump that will likely make it hard to pass in and out of a pocket.

Apple's "Awe Dropping" event kicks off today at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, where we're expecting to see the iPhone 17 lineup, several updated Apple Watch models, and the third-generation AirPods Pro unveiled, and perhaps some other announcements.
Apple is providing a live video stream on its website, on YouTube, and in the company's TV app across various platforms. Can't wait to see the price for the Air. Gonna change this event to SHOCK and AWE.
No kidding, as a species we've become so f'in self-centered and narcissistic.
Can't outengineer physical limitations.
It just shows an arrogance - laziness? - from Apple. Like, they no longer have to make any effort to sell us on their products. I remember the old iPhone launches from the past (including the OG).
It's wild. Nothing in here is even an attempt to excite the userbase.
The guy doing the iPhone 17 Air thing with the scratch resistance at least seems slightly excited about what he worked on. Unlike everyone else.
I kinda hate the look of the Air with the camera bump. I have no desire for a “super thin” phone. But maybe I’m alone on this.
