Was hoping for announcement of eGPU support as well as user upgradeable RAM and SSD in the Studio. All necessary to make it a true pro level machine.

At least we can say the transition is more progressed as now we have a good substitute for the Mac Pro now. Yes we are still waiting for the 27" iMac M1 Max but that should be late April to May is my prediction.

Watch them flood eBay and not be sold, because they cannot compete with the Studio pricing.
Maybe low end configurations for people who really didn’t need the Mac Pro. The Mac studio does not replace the Mac Pro. It only has 128 GB of RAM max

Time to read up on them properly now.

Cheers for the laughs as always and my your vital organs pave the way to Mac happiness!

Monitor seems OK, but a bit small and lacking in features for the price. I want HDR, VRR, 100Hz+ and multiple inputs for that price. A better stand would have been nice too.

Mac Studio with the Max seems OK price-wise, but the Ultra one feels more like a $3k product not a $4k one.

Apple doesn't have the silicon yet for a Mac Pro. Pros will need 768GB-1.5TB of RAM and they'd need to chain 10 Ultras together to achieve that. Perhaps next year.

$1999 for the Mac isn't bad, but wish they had a $1200-1500 model as well with lower specs. The display is more than I'm looking to spend. $1500 isn't bad considering how much the LG goes for, but wish they could come out with a sub-$1000 display. I don't need the camera, speakers, or any of the extras. Just want an Apple looking display. Also wish they'd release the 27 inch iMac already, that's probably the one most of us want and will probably be at a reasonable price point as well.

This new live update takeover of the whole site is awful. You have to scroll for 15 minutes to reach the end, and then everything has been changed. It used to be you could expand the live update “article” if you wanted. Am I seeing something different than everyone else?

wow that was massive disappointment. no m2, no updated mac mini. another time then. RIP.
Probably WWDC or July in time for back-to-school sales. The 13" MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are perfect for that market and the base M2.
