Exactly, which leads to the more likely announcement for the iPod Touch, a price reduction. They might include some hardware changes to make it more like the new iPhone 3G in form but I doubt it. Probably just software updates (2.1) and maybe iTunes 8, both of which have been rumored.

and seriously people, there's not going to be a new iPhone 3G in 11 days, less than 60 after it came out. how can you possibly believe that there will be? they still need to get this one right.

Nope, all us naysayers are going to be proven wrong. Jobs is going to announce the all new iPhone 3G Extreme that will have:

  • Aluminum case
  • 10 MP Camera
  • Copy/Paste
  • MMS
  • Unlocked
  • 64 GB
  • A2DP and Bluetooth Profiles support
  • Comes with a dock
  • Comes with a bluetooth wireless keyboard
  • Tethering allowed and enabled at no additional monthly charge
  • 802.11n and 802.11r

Oh, and did I forget that the unsubsidized price will be $99.99 unless you bought the iPhone 3G (standard version) you will be charge $799.99.

No, they'll have to wait until an April or May '09 announcement for that. Gotta give Verizon a chance to get 4G up and going (yup you read that right, their gonna kill their deal with AT&T so they can do the iPhone 4G with Verizon with sales to begin April or May '09).
