This is a huge leap for iPhone. It's basically a no brainer upgrade for everyone.

Pre-ordering is going to be a huge mess as people desperately try to secure their launch day units. Literally every iPhone user will want to upgrade.

Laugh all you want, but I know a group who's looking at replacing broadcast cameras for live events (golf) with iPhones. Each one of those "real" cameras costs $50k + $12k/year.

I know no pro-photographers who use their iPhone for work (forget instagram hipsters) and there's 100% no way that these professionals would shoot a JPEG with some computational photography.

now let's look at the video mode - using the camera but on a set with thousands of dollars budget, real actors, lighting and rigs...

The video tripod that the phone was on in that shot cost more than most people cars.

The point is anyone can craft cinematic-quality movies with these new iPhones.
