I’ve been using the sleep tracking since the beta was released on Monday and it’s really accurate. I notice what time I go to bed each night and when I check it in the morning, it’s usually spot on. I also noticed I don’t sleep enough. Lol.
I‘m so glad to hear that. I stopped using Apple Watch and went with an old Fitbit from 2019 just because it did better sleep detection (And almost made the mistake of paying for their premium plan).

I can finally get back with the Apple Watch again!

tracking sleep might be nice, if the watch lasted multiple days. but with it only lasting less than one, overnight is when it gets charged.
Even without fast charging, the Apple Watch charges fairly quick due to the tiny battery. You don’t need overnight charging. You can charge it sporadically throughout the day here and there and it would probably have enough battery to do sleep tracking on a regular basis.

Well I have the constant on display turned off, also I don’t have it make sounds, just vibrations, & I limit what notifications & apps I have on it to just those I actually use. That’s about it…
I buy that. My S7 gets about 30 hours on a charge. AOD, vibration, sound, notifications … everything turned on.

That would be cool if ...
I can get at most 36 if I'm lucky.

IMO for sleep to really be useful the AW needs at min a 3+ day between charge cycle
I’ll wear my watch during day and turn off at night. 16 hours uses 25-30%. GPS only version. No AOD.

Bought in September of 2020 release day. At something like 93% battery health.

Sorry you’re only getting 36, but that’s still really good. That’s easily a full 24 hour cycle, and a quick top off on charger before bed or before work in morning.

i'm excited about sleep tracking. i tried wearing the watch to bed and started to get a rash. so i will probably stick with my withings matt which is accurate and you never have to think about it.

No, it’s not. I buy a new Apple Watch every year. So right now I have a 7 & a 6. When the 8 comes out I’ll get an Apple credit for the 6 & then have a 8 & a 7. When I’m low on a charge I just swap watches.
I wouldn't do that. I'd stick to one and hopefully Apple does include some type of fast charge given their push for sleep monitoring.

I wear my AW7 all day and my AW4 at night. Whichever is not on my wrist is on the charger.

I might buy an AW8 this year for my daytime watch. I’ve always just had GPS and I’m thinking of going cellular. I’d also like to get SPO2 tracking at night which my AW4 doesn’t have.

I always get a cellular Apple Watch, the 8 would be a good choice. Having cellular on my watch cost’s an extra $10 per month, but I’m able to make and receive phone call while away. When I forget my phone at home and just have my watch it’s great, and totally worth it. Your AW7 will make a great night watch. 👍🏻💤

What kind of trade in value do you get for your two year old watch? I’m a frequent purchaser of Apple products, and I usually waterfall them down to family members. My old Apple Watches have been the exception. Those just die in a junk drawer. Maybe I should try your method.

I take mine into an Apple store. I know they will recycle everything correctly, and I always get something for returning them. There’s still value in my 2 year old watch returns… 💴
