I’ve watched every Apple Event since the iMac G5 announcement in 2004. After last year’s BS announcements, I’ve decided I’m not going to bother with them anymore. I’m finally getting off the hype train.
No, impossible, everyone else has flawless software and only Apple's stuff has delays and issues. Also Steve never launched any buggy software that they had to rush to fix later, and he never had any high profile software delays either. You are leaving a pretty big part of that story out…
Steve only held a press conference… Because his first response was to tell a customer “you’re holding it wrong” in a passive aggressive email first, and he had to do damage control.
Also, antenna gate was an actual hardware issue, the Apple Intelligence delays are the same delays that Microsoft, Amazon and Google have all faced.
Microsoft had to delay recall for an entire year, Amazon announced Alexa+ months ago and it’s still nowhere to be seen at least full featured.
All of these AI companies are delaying their pie in the sky voice assistants, there’s really nothing Apple can say.
They just get the most press coverage, because they are Apple.
I used to love Apple. But little by little, over time, although I still use their products, I’ve really come to start to hate them on certain levels. There are areas where I defend them, most notably when the E.U. goes into overdrive when it comes to bureaucratic overreach, but on the whole, the utter greed of Tim Crook bleeds into everything. It's amazing how people's attitudes (even my attitude) has trended negative towards Apple over the least year. I poured my life savings into Apple in 2006 so I have every reason to love apple, but man, they are pissing me off lately. And it doesn't help that Siri (HomePod) asks me who I am several times per week, pauses music periodically, and is generally dumber than a brick!!! The fact that I have to say "Hello, you there?" half a dozen times when answering phone calls on my iPhone 16 Pro with my AirPods (come on Apple, figure it out!).
This is really it. They have no confidence in their ability to fix issues, let alone admit failure. Why would Tim Cook change his management style? Things have only trended worse under his leadership for a while nowIf I was Apple execs, I wouldn’t show either. What really can you say? The software side of things has been an absolute disaster, they are trying to mitigate any further public embarrassment to the company. Tim Cook should really step down, as well as the others who have put the company into the downwards direction it’s currently heading. Nothing will change until the failed leadership changes.
Literally at that antenna gate event people are referencing, Steve announced that the white iPhone four would be shipping later that summer. No, impossible, everyone else has flawless software and only Apple's stuff has delays and issues. Also Steve never launched any buggy software that they had to rush to fix later, and he never had any high profile software delays either.
And if you're reading this and believe anything I typed, please admit you don't know what you're talking about and leave these things to people who actually know (or who were around then).
As if he is the only one saying the obvious. Apple’s response, if the narrative is true, falls right in line with today’s US political climate. No kidding 😂..he would have known when he published that article that the relationship was over.
Yup, iJustine will get another interview with Tim Cook to talk about how great Apple Intelligence has been and how excited she is to try the delayed features. They will probably do some “interviews” with YouTubers like last year that are completely void of any actual information.
Wow you’re right, that played a role too. That was so spot on, he writes beautifully some times.I suspect Daring Fireball’s John Gruber lost this access in 2024 when he published his I Wonder article. Read the last paragraph.

No, the Epic lawsuits have been going on for years. Same with the EU stuff. The lawsuits are largely over - Apple effectively lost to Epic in the US and the EU just slapped Apple around the other day - and there isn't much to talk about on that front.Yeah apple is t letting any of their executives talk to the press with pending legal actions with epic and others.
