In my eyes the iPhone 5c is clearly for the Chinese market. These pastel colors are so off putting from Apple. It would be fine by me if they didn't force the same feel on the European customers as well by the design of iOS 7. The kindergarten icons and the same colors are not suiting the premium feel of the iPhone 5/5s. It was so trivial to leave behind the leather skinning and opt for bold colors and high-tech, less textured materials in Ui design. Even the good concepts can't shine because of this childish and inconsistent design. I mean for example the "in glass" carved icons in control center would be great, parallax is a nice feature for fun sake, and some of the flatter design choices are welcome that reduce that too much sugarcoat on some UI elements. I think Apple has lost some of its high tech feeling in UI design years ago, somehow went for cute and a bit childish. I am not sure I like that. I always had iPhones, but as much of an Apple fan I am I have to say a a stock Android on a Nexus 5 looks more modern. I don't like admitting that!
