or maybe they want to get rid of the huge un-sold stock of 5cs?
I rarely see anyone using 5c in daily life..as opposed to frequently spotting 5ss'...

I call bs on this. Personally is have seen many iphone 5c's and I have seen a lot of 5/5s's as well. I'm saying unless you get right up on the phones you can tell a difference between the 5/5s.

Quite honestly I think the 5C feels nicer in the hand than the 5S. I won't be surprised if the new iPhone takes cues from the 5C and/or iPod touch. Of course the flagship won't be plastic but I bet the boxy design is gone.

I do agree it's much nicer to hold. First thing I noticed. Build quality is great too. The specs alone on the 5s is what sold me.

You chose to feature something non-grotesque, ...show the home screen or other atrocities. Change for change;s sake does not make something automatically better or less dated, on the contrary. The over the top leather stitching could have been eliminated or toned down, but that never made it bad design, iOS7 on the other hand, IS bad design.
Sorry, but the images I showed were both from the last 18 months Forestall spent at Apple and represented his future direction for all of iOS. The older work that you choose to remember would have been replaced one way or another by now. Thank god it wasn't with yellow stitching. And if you think a little switch with a turtle on it hidden under a glass shelf that for no discoverable reason can slide up is a good design for a 'slow' button on an audio app then your opinion is truly worthless.

There's a big problem with "Find Your Colors"…
…and that is that none of the colors Apple / Jony picked are anything close to the colors I like, at all.

Here's my counterproposal for colors I came up with a few months ago:

Come out with these, and the phones will sell themselves. I'd pick up a blue one, personally….

Nothing personal, but those colors are hideous. They would have looked dated ten years ago.

I call bs on your bs. I rarely see the 5c and it is easy to tell a 5/5s from a 5c.

5c's actually a really nice phone. Even though it's made out of plastic, the build quality's outstanding. Probably general knowledge, but I personally believe Apple's trying to replace the iPod Touch with the 5C as an entry iOS device. Let's see if they update the touch next year with an A8 or not, would fulfill my speculation if not.

Personally, I picked the 5s because I use the camera a lot, and I wanted a substantial upgrade from my 4s.

However, I gave my wife the choice of whatever she wanted. She picked the green 5c with a yellow apple case and she is happy as a clam. I explained the technical differences, but guess what?.....she didn't give a rip. I must admit the 5c looks great and the case feels soft and nice in the hand.

BTW - for the price of the 16gb 5s, people can buy a 32gb 5c in their favorite color. Some folks might find this appealing if they want to keep a large music collection or lots of photos/videos on their phone.

The 5C is the second best seller on 2/4 of the major US carriers behind the 5S. On the other two it's third behind the GS4.

The 5C is selling just fine. If they didn't see any benefit to the added marketing they wouldn't do it.

The 5C sells more or less OK thanks to extremely aggressive advertising.

The 5S is simply much better value for money.

Just shows that not all plastic is the same and plastic doesn't automatically equal poor build quality. I don't remember people saying Nokia Lumia's had bad build quality.

Ah so that's why Galaxy's sell so well - aggressive advertising.

Absolutely correct. The current colors are awful; I could have seen myself buying one if they were even close to something non pukey.

BS your BS ;)

Might be with whom or where you hangout. From my experience I see a lot of 5s and very very few 5c, and trust me it a lot easier to pick the 5c due to their colors.

Don't forget people who buy the 5c are less likey to get a case to cover it all up.

The front color should match the back color like the red one. That along with picking rather bland colors it's not really a surprise they are not doing as well.

Never seen a 5S in the wild, but have seen a couple of Salmon pink 5C phones. 5C is so light and comfortable. I think the design is the future for the iPhone.

They over priced it by 50. You'd still get people buying the 5s at 150 more because they will look at the people who can't afford the extra 150 and want to buy it just to feel above them. Others will afford the extra 150 just because they want the best but they are not really anything apple need to worry about. They want to capture the people who uhm and ah over iPhone and they failed by their pricing.

But I thought the iPhone 5c was going to sell well!

Wahhhhh!

Lol I called it

iPhone 5c was a mistake

Was it? Now the dust's settled seems half my friends, who aren't phone nerds, seem to be getting them as network upgrades.

Wasn't that what it was for? A moderately cheaper phone for those not interested in the cutting edge?

The 5c is a big seller. The fact that Apple managed to tempt more to the 5s than it anticipated is hardly a failure.

I'm still not feeling any of your colors either except for maybe the white. I'm old school, white or black..maybe some grey that's what I like my electronics colors to be. You want color you want blue ? Buy a case

I don't like the case but I love the 5C's design. In fact I think it looks and feels (except for the plastic buttons on the side) better than the 5S, as the back is curved, lets you grip it more comfortably and is made of a single material. It also looks way more "Apple" as it doesn't try to look elegant, it rather looks young, modern and very minimalistic. I find the 5S to look a bit too serious and therefore aimed at more mature people.

I think Apple should go all in with the colors, and make the front match the back. This would especially look great for the white one, which kind of looks strange with a black front and white back. An all-white phone would certainly look cool, and there would be no silver and various materials to interrupt the whiteness.

Although I bought the iPhone 5S in white and gold for myself, my mom has the iPhone 5C in blue with a yellow case. It's really a nice phone in a fun color.

I think the 5C is a resounding success, but I have to wonder where the lavender and orange colors are; I think those would be cool additions.
