This is Apple saying Working From Home days are over.
Not just over, but Apple will show the world how to force everyone back into office and long commute.
Might as well allocate areas for staff dorm. That way certain people can live in the campus and don’t travel back home that often.

Remote work is better for the employee, more cost efficient for both parties, and better for the environment.
Apple says “remote work destroys productivity, less cost efficient since projects go much longer than needed and worse for environment as our campus is net neutral but staff homes are not”

I think the Motorola and Pixel flip-phones are some of the best looking, and most useful/portable, phones on the market.
Mine was mostly a joke but I think they have too many trade-offs compared to carrying a phone and a tablet. They are surely great for the right target but I don't think that's where mainstream phones are going.

I wonder if this counts towards the $500 billion they promised to invest in the US in the next four years. (I don't think there was a formal definition for what counts as investment so purchasing offices for roughly a billion could be easily added to the investment total).
I don’t know enough about the specifics of that promise, but I do know that the Bay Area is a popular area for real estate investment by foreign firms. So it became American owned

Perhaps Apple saw what you suggest and decided, here’s a way to chip away at that requirement? Not sure who Kilroy is but that might prove my thought wrong.

Edit: Welp. I’m wrong. I swear this never happens!

This is the flaw that really needs to be corrected.

Not all users / use cases are "the mainstream".

We really should have more options in this day and age to cater to all various users and use cases.

Sit on Zoom calls all day at the office or sit on Zoom calls all day at home. The better choice for workers is obvious. The better choice for the corner office is usually the opposite.

Speaking from personal experience... It's a very poor choice for people (engineers/technicians/program managers/etc) who need to collaborate on projects in person.

Many tech jobs are not about pounding code behind a computer all day.

It never started.

Apple was far and wide the most hostile and disgusting company to be working at during the peak of the pandemic.

They were forcing employees into the offices, requiring daily testing, and mostly not allowing people to work remotely.

Out of all the tech companies in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, Apple employees were the most pissed off (rightfully so).

This isn’t even the worst of it either. Apple employees all have to pay for their meals and drinks, and their pay isn’t even as good as most of the other large companies in the area….
