I have an Apple Watch Series 4? Its looking rough and I think it might be time to upgrade. I wonder how long people tend to hold onto their watches. I could probably keep it until it no longer receives OS updates.
I held onto my S4 for 4 years and upgraded to the Ultra1. It worked perfect besides the battery going under 80% by that time. I carried a power bank with me so I always had a charger. I now upgrade my watches 4-5 years now.

I'm hoping that they'll announce a settlement and the return of the feature, or just quietly return the feature (not mentioning the settlement) on release of the OS upgrade...
I hope so too, because this is a much needed feature for me to work alongside my cpap machine. I wear a Wellue O2 ring at night, just in case Apple were to deactivate on my watch. It is also a deciding factor to determine my next upgrade.

i really hope they dont pull the bs they did with ipad and require you to buy 1tb to have better memory/cpu for the iphone. My iphone 11 pro max is 256gb and 5 years later it still has 80 gb left

I'm looking forward to what Apple has prepared for the tenth anniversary of the Apple Watch. I'm really looking forward to the event but just for the Apple Watch.

I'm not expecting an iPhone X equivalent for the Apple Watch but I do expect a much bigger upgrade than the Series 8 and Series 9 were to their predecessors.

I'll upgrade from my 13 PM just to have every device on USB-C. I think Apple may be baking some of this into their guidance for 16 sales. I know another person in the same boat.
I am typing this from my iPhone 13 Pro. Can’t wait to have everything on USB-C. The only 2 devices with a lightning port that I use are this iPhone and the AirPods Pro 2. Everything else is migrated to USB-C.

AirPods 4 are coming as well, with Apple planning to debut two models for the first time. The lower-end model will be similar to the current AirPods, while the higher-end version will include Active Noise Cancellation.
This will probably be a day 1 purchase, specifically the version with ANC. I find myself using an old pair with ANC a lot to help dampen down loudness around me in public places, and even at the office sometimes.

Still hoping they bring back black titanium or ceramic.
A ceramic S10 or black titanium U3 would be an instant buy for me. I'm going to upgrade regardless because I'm planning on giving my mom my current titanium S7 as her first foray into the Apple Watch line. But a ceramic or black titanium case would make the upgrade feel all the more substantial for me.

9/10 will be a busy day. Buckle up!

Starting out with new iPhones and ending with the first presidential debate between Harris and Trump.

That’s a lot!
Yes it will be.

"Microsoft will hold an event for industry peers at its campus in Redmond, Washington, on Sept. 10."

This is an upgrade year for me. Bring it on.
Yeah, I feel like this is an excellent year to upgrade our gadgets. The A18 and M4 chips are going to bring a big jump in performance and efficiency, along with the increases in RAM, being 8GB now the minimum for new iPhone & iPad, and hopefully (if the latest leak is true) 16GB the base RAM across the M4 Mac lineup.

Also I’m pretty hyped by the new AirPods 4 and the thinner Apple Watch 10.

This fall is going to be great for Apple customers, and not only because of Apple Intelligence.

I’m not upgrading my Apple Watch until Apple activates the blood oxygen sensor again. I’ll continue to use my Apple Watch Ultra1 for the time being. I have AppleCare+ so I’ll get a replacement once the battery reaches 79%. As for the 16PM, I’m not upgrading unless Apple releases a Rose Gold variant.
I find it very odd that we’ve heard nothing about Apple’s plan to get the oxygen sensor back. Is there a new one coming that isn’t subject to the patent ban?

It will be super weird to launch a brand new generation of Watch with this still being an issue. I also wouldn’t buy it and I am beyond ready for an upgrade.

I haven’t seen anything regarding Apple’s plan to get the sensor back, and it seems like they haven’t been making any moves to get it back. This is a big deciding factor for me.

just because you haven't seen any rumors here or elsewhere doesn't mean there won't be SpO2 in the new AW ... it would be a big miss though, but ~ 2.5 weeks to know for sure

I am not upgrading this year, but I hope that whatever material they use in the Ultra 2 casing and ocean band that causes irritation and rashes on my wrist (and numerous others from doing some research), is something Apple resolve 😅

Hmm, is it worth upgrading JUST for Apple Intelligence though. That’s the main thing. Not saying the new CPU won’t be whizzy and the like. Maybe hold off another year or so.
Intelligence is coming so late in 2025. The 17 would be better for it. As you’d expect it would be better aligned with it.

Maybe RAM gets another boost. Etc.

As Apple will want to pull as much onto the device as they can so they are able to save on the data center and third party AI fees.
