You might get an Ultra 1 with disabled BO sensor. It’s an import ban
I realized that after talking to someone who received a replacement device after receiving a battery replacement and their sensor was disabled. I’ll just have to keep battery optimization enabled and a portable power bank with me once the battery degrades even more.

I am wondering if there will be an A18 + Modem SoC variant for iPhone SE 4. And similarly used for iPhone Air.

My battery capacity on my 15pm is down to 87% and it's noticeable now, also hoping for the 2tb storage, but something tells me that's a pipe dream

I have a 13 and this is going to be an update I want. The news that even the base model is getting the capture button seals the deal. Yah sure the 17 is going to be awesome but so will the 18 and on and on. That will be then but this is now. If the apple watch X is thinner and has a larger screen then that's a yes for me too.

I think, with an ultra and already great battery life of the start, you should not be worried. I have a day-1 Series 6, just 72% health, brightness on max but background refresh disables. Gets me easily through the day and sometime the night. Use it also for sleep tracking.

I'm curious what the new Ultra brings. It depends on what the 10 brings sure, but I just wish Ultra had some more special exclusive features. Not that I'm trying to gate keep stuff away from the regular watches, I just want to feel like the huge increase in price is actually worth it.

Apple could do SO much better in the amount of screen on an Ultra considering the physical footprint the Ultra has. Actual screen size of the Ultra isn't actually that much bigger than the biggest Series 9, 45mm vs 51mm or whatever it isn't the measure of the actual usable screen. If you have an Ultra, you can look down and see it's not an edge<>edge screen. Then look at how big the metal case sticks out compared to where the usable part of the screen ends. Probably a good few mm of space there.

The only reason the Ultra is worth it to me is the battery. I try to keep it between 20-80% which is easy to get a day out of the watch with that, and if I forget to charge or am out on vacation away from the hotel all day using Maps and logging walks, I know the Ultra will last all day using it at full brightness. Give me a bigger damn screen at least though lol

My wife needs to monitor sleep apnea, blood oxygen and heart beat. Her GP wants her to buy an Apple Watch. Will this work with their patent disputes in the US? We are in EU.
If Apple doesn’t release the sleep apnea detection this autumn, then a Withings Scanwatch will be an instant buy. I have one for quite some years already and it does detect sleep apnea sufficiently.

I have a series 6 as well, with similar battery health. I keep AOD disabled (I dislike it, not because of battery), and background refresh off, and I get a full day including a couple GPS-recorded workouts.

Zero current interest in upgrading.

My Ultra1’s battery capacity is at 88% at almost 2 years, which I’m assuming is good. It does last me a full day. I do have a portable battery pack, so I can charge it when need be.

I’m in the US and have been using my Ultra1 to track my blood oxygen, and heart rate, sleep tracking alongside my cpap therapy. I also wear a Wellue O2 ring that has continuous oximetry readings throughout the night that I have vibrate when my oxygen goes under 90 to make me turn over in my sleep (doesn’t fully wake me up) and causes my oxygen to go back up, and I have it vibrate when my pulse rate goes under 40. That along has worked great for me for the past year.

I am a customer that needs the blood oxygen sensor, so I’m looking into alternatives in case the replacement Ultra1 I receive when it’s time for battery replacement has the sensor deactivated. I’m going to still wear my Apple Watch, but I need the blood oxygen sensor as well.

Only buying this year because I broke my 14 pro last year in a bicycle accident. The bottom portion of the screen cracked in several places and makes for some interesting unintended typing at times. Especially after work outs when it gets a little sweaty. Surprised it held up to be honest so there is that at least. ;)

Unfortunately it makes it worthless for trade in as well does not make a good hand me down. :(

Tele-optics 48/24 MP with bigger sensor, a (little) bigger zoom ---> better image stabilization.

But no.. UW-optics for the VPro first...

And both? (UW and tele-optics on par with 2024) ...

Hello Tim? 🤔

Oh? You're pruning the garden for the next 'You're gonna Love It as Nothing Else in the History of Mankind ❤️!'-keynote ...

Sorry.. what? But now first prune further?
Further pruning, you said?

Oh yeah, I see. Thanks for the talk! I loved it! 🙏🏽

I’m not upgrading my Apple Watch until Apple activates the blood oxygen sensor again. I’ll continue to use my Apple Watch Ultra1 for the time being. I have AppleCare+ so I’ll get a replacement once the battery reaches 79%. As for the 16PM, I’m not upgrading unless Apple releases a Rose Gold variant.
Apple just have to pay for the patents it infringed but I suppose it’s too greedy to do that.
