If it's like the 6S case, just shows how lazy and sloppy apple has become , taking engineering and design about ten minutes to stick a battery to a case.

Also macrumors : why not just make the iPhone 3mm thicker ? Instead of two devices that fail in regards to form and function :)

I owned the 6S battery case, and it was poor in function and form - happy it achieved one or the other, not fail on both accounts

Weird. Because most of the people I’ve read about using it ended up liking it. Also, if both devices fail for you then why buy either?

I bought it cause Apple denied there was a problem with iPhone batteries at the tome . And what do you know, a few months later, mine was in the batch that got a replacement battery. Very frustrating when you visit the Genius Bar and your battery passes all the tests and you cannot return your phone outside 14 day period . That should summarise why I bought it .

And as an FYI - within 12 months it’s battery was holding very little charge. Maybe I was unlucky.

If you like an ackward shaped phone that was very heavy, it’s a great product. Each to their own I guess.

People who are hating on it never owned the case probably

Have you owned one ? As the reply was to me, and I had the case. With your statement , I hope you were/are an owner ;)

Yup I’ve owned few of them actually and I love them gets me through 2 days

I'm still consistently amazed that this is an actual Apple product. It looks like a Mad Catz Nintendo 64 peripheral.
I see these battery cases in public more then Apple’s own silicon and leather cases

Apple: "we produced the best thinnest iPhone ever"
Couple months latter: "oh now we will sell you the battery you need"
WTF?

I think most people like it because they usually can get through a day without it and like how easy it is to remove. It sounds like you would be happier with a huge battery back.

Ugh still ugly. I would have hoped that Apple by now would have figured out a better design. Hopefully they release something without the hump. If it wasn’t Apple branded and just some 3rd party manufacturer do you think anyone would buy it???

My XR gets me through 2 days of heavy use. That includes almost 9 hours of screen-on time, plus Apple Music streaming (mostly screen OFF) also used for 30-60 minutes per day.

I was just on a short vacation with my family in Sydney and Wollongong (Australia), and only used my phone for GPS/maps, the camera (30-40 photos/day), photo uploads to family, and checking the Raptors/NBA highlights, and my XR easily would have lasted 3 days if I decided NOT to charge after Day 2. In fact, I could have probably lasted 4 days. It’s awesome!! :apple::)

I am curious as to how this would affect wireless charging. I likely wouldn't be interested, the XS gets me through most of the day and I have a wireless charger at my desk at work to top it off as needed.

Not having battery cases for more recent phones has held up upgrading for us. I’d get one for my XR and probably finally upgrade a family member still using a 6 with the vital bc. None of us can stand carting around a separate box and long life functionality is a thousand times more appearance than how it looks.

I too hope this happens soon. This is a must have when traveling internationally. Roaming eats up battery.

They better be Qi compatible.

Anyway, as ugly as the bump is/was on the 6-7 versions, they were really comfortable in the hand. Just putting that out there.

I’d be happier with a iPhone with a suitable battery . The iPhone X for example , the 6s will always be known for battery related issues , which I guess this almost no effort solution covered up for some people , sure , guess they were happy to have suitable battery life after they put the case on....

I have one on my iPhone 7. May be ugly, but holds very well in the hand.

My one request would be to allow the phone to drain to 90% before using the external battery. Would be better on the internal phone battery.

This is an excellent point . The Apple genius even admitted that the external battery contributed to my 6S battery dying early. Poor design in that regards

Then let him talk with his colleague Joni.
Oh wait, he’s living on another cloud.

Any my 7, my wife 6s, and my daughters SE. All mentioned by different genius when I individually had their batteries replaced. The SE problem isn't fixable because non-apple battery case and the phone doesn't know it isn't just on a power cord. But the apple cases the phone knows...
