Any my 7, my wife 6s, and my daughters SE. All mentioned by different genius when I individually had their batteries replaced. The SE problem isn't fixable because non-apple battery case and the phone doesn't know it isn't just on a power cord. But the apple cases the phone knows...

As ugly as these are, I would have bought one for my SE if Apple had made one ... I use an external charger about the size of my SE to charge it up while traveling, but a custom case would be so much better!

I don't mine the silicon either. I find it's great for protection. BUT, the battery hump is one of the ugliest cases EVER on the market. THEY made no attempt at aesthetics and focused on functionality! Which is completely the opposite of other products, where it is all aesthetics and little on the functionality!

Jobs approved all the products, and had a handle on the company as Apple was his baby. Tim just treats it as a cash machine and doesn't really care about the products. Tim is no visionary that's for sure

For sure things are different without Jobs. Tim probably faces more pressure from the board and he doesn’t have the mettle to tell them “no” like Jobs did

Don't tell us about the removal of classical headphone socket or the ugliest notch: both not really necessary.

The notch is a design accident: if you wish an unbroken view on video/game/photo you get a smaller active display area with black frame – so the full display look is a lie. Ugly for all who kept their clear view ;)

Wrong, they're necessary. But since you requested to be ignorant about the reasoning behind the decision, I won't explain it.

They needed something that would fit with the bloody rim around the camera?

I'm not a designer or anything but like... you'd think you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone by making the phone 1mm thicker, hiding the camera's rim and spreading the battery evenly using the newfound thickness.

? not really talking about the camera.

I already use one of similar make for my X.
Its not too bad plus it’s better than carrying a separate power bank.

I have been waiting for this. I’m still rocking my 7 with the battery case. Will be upgrading to the Xs as soon as the case is available.

Now if they give me a virtual home button On the Xs to unlock the phone I will have had all my wishes granted :)

Do we know if this will work on the original iPhone X? Is there a reason why it wouldn’t work on the X? The X and XS are identical as far as dimensions go as far as I’m concerned? I’ll be definitely getting one of these if it works for the original X

[doublepost=1544884790][/doublepost]Lol who are you kidding? Your Xr lasted 2 days with heavy usage? That is an absolute lie. These devices don’t last a whole day with heavy usage let alone 2 days as you claim. If you had a battery case perhaps your claims could be taken seriously but there is not a chance your claims are close to legit.
My XR gets me through 2 days of heavy use. That includes almost 9 hours of screen-on time, plus Apple Music streaming (mostly screen OFF) also used for 30-60 minutes per day.

I was just on a short vacation with my family in Sydney and Wollongong (Australia), and only used my phone for GPS/maps, the camera (30-40 photos/day), photo uploads to family, and checking the Raptors/NBA highlights, and my XR easily would have lasted 3 days if I decided NOT to charge after Day 2. In fact, I could have probably lasted 4 days. It’s awesome!! :apple::)

They are apparently experiencing some delays, word on the street is that they wanted the"hump" to charge the new AirPods case and Apple Watch wirelessly.

That doesn’t sound very intuitive for them to make you turn your phone upside down just to charge your watch or AirPods. I’m going to assume this not true.

It makes more sense for it to be wirelessly charged, but only optionally.

Actually, I'd welcome that feature. You won't be missing notifications if that's the issue because the Watch is screen up. I find my phone face down on my desk or in my pocket half the time anyways since I'm wearing my Watch for notifications.

But what situation is that for? At home, at the end of the day, with the iPhone plugged into a Lightning cable? Who takes their watch off at work to charge it? I suppose I understand it as a backup, sort of like plugging the Apple Pencil into the Lighting port when it runs out of charge, but not the most efficient way to charge it regularly. And what happens for those who have been actively using Qi charging mats since the 8 & X? They have to switch back to a Lightning cable in order to not have to use their watch charger or plug in their AirPods case? No thank you ...

The battery case needs to charge via Qi so people can keep using their iPhones wirelessly as they always do, and if putting a coil in it enables optional wireless charging of the watch or AirPods in pinch, so much the better. But not a deal breaker.

I usually charge my watch at home but not every night because some nights I wear it for monitoring resting heart rate, and I intend to wear it for sleep monitoring as well. The next day I may or may not make it through the day so having a backup charger would work great since I don't carry around a second watch charger. I know there are portable chargers on the market that can also charge the Watch, but for the sake of convenience, having one strapped onto the phone that also enhances the phone's battery life sounds good to me. It is indeed a backup feature, not a primary charger for reasons you state. Not a deal breaker but a nice to have.

As for wireless charging of the battery pack, since I (and I'm sure many others) almost never charge with a cable any more, a pack that doesn't wirelessly charge is a backwards product for me. Not a deal breaker for many, but for me, yes.

Granted, these features could add significant cost to a battery case, so IMO there could be two models, one standard model that is similar to the previous one and one with the added bells and whistles.

I did not buy the X because there was no battery case. I still have my 7. I need more battery life. My apple care just ended. Once the new battery cases come out apple will see 4 more of the newest phones.

We are heavy users. Me I’m a road worrier traveling many days and my kids for whatever they do ? We don’t want to carry bricks or look for wireless charging in public places or be scouting outlets at public places. I just want my phone charged. I wish there was a battery case for my iPad too.

Yes I’m in the camp of give me a thicker iPhone with a 3 day battery. I don’t think we will see it as I’m not the norm and apple cant sell enough of those to make it worth their investment. But I need the battery case and don’t want a non apple battery case bc they are marginal at best, can mess up the phones battery, don’t integrate with the iOS software seamlessly, or work with the wigets, they need to be switched on/off and most need a different charge cord. I would love the wireless charging to be baked into the new battery cases additionally but it’s not a critical dealbreaker for me.

If you don’t want an apple battery case or need one, don’t buy one. I’ve never seen so many people trash something they don’t have to buy. Move on people.

I’m more excited about the case than the newest iPhones. I just wish I could get a virtual home button or had the option of an actual home button. I hope Face ID is an easy adjustment. I’m in a lot of meeting and placing my finger to unlock works for me. Having to lift and look at the phone won’t :(.

The fact that Apple is about to release these cases shows what it an insult it was to those of us who bought an iPhone X that Apple never bothered to offer one to us. Likewise its failure to offer silicone cases for its recent iPads.
