Yup. How much more revenue can they make before being declared a monopoly. So apple has given up on converting android users to iOS?
I don't think more people will use junk dollar store chargers in the future than do today. But apart from a money grab it's an environmentally friendly move.Apart from a money grab margin-wise, it's a pretty insidious way to push the replacement cycle as people will be more prone to buy and use junk dollar store chargers that can easily kill your phone every time you use one.
Good for Apples' bottom line and the environment. Seems like a win/win as customers won't throw the chargers away and those who need can figure it out and buy one (or have someone gift them one.)Apple cheaping out as usual. Wonder if they'll pass the savings on to their customers (el oh el)
A Lot of 2020 and 2021 models are finally getting wireless carplay. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple has already told automakers that a portless iPhone is coming. The port still has relevancy in many situations where Apple wouldn’t remove that quite yet, but I believe that will be A reality sooner than later. And that’s when you’ll start seeing more auto manufacturers migrate to wireless carplay for obvious reasons.

It's unclear to me what kind of port is on the new iPhone 12's, but if it's a Lightning port, any charger should work. If it's a USB-C port, that's a different matter. There are several USB-C adapters on eBay for $10 and up.I for one don’t, so I have to make sure I set aside an extra $50-$75 for the adapter and charging cable if it’s not included. I have AirPods Pro so I don’t care about the EarPods.
