What makes you think we're out of this in a month? Maybe in your gated community it won't feel like much but in lots of places we got lots of work to do!

And you do know there's a lot of the rest of the world where it's going to be going on for a long while to come, right?

Hahaha I have to concur.
“We are out of this in a month”… is the biggest joke I’ve heard in a while.

I have my iPad mini 5 and first iPad Pro which is using Touch ID.

I can tell you that the experience isn’t that good now. Due to the pandemic and the increase of hand washing + sanitising,the skin on my thumb and index fingers is not in a very good condition and I need to re-register my fingerprint often, which is extremely annoying.

This feature doesn't solve much. You still need to use your passcode or password for all of the apps within the phone after you unlock it with the watch.

Exactly, any app requiring Face ID will not work.

I only got an Apple Watch six months ago, but had an iPhone with Apple Pay for years and years. I haven’t used Apple Watch Apple Pay as I forgot it even exists after four years of Apple Pay on iPhone 7.
I will try harder to remember to use it!

My Apple Watch Series 3 has 4.1 GB usable space, and the watchOS 7.4 update needs 3 GB to install (but i need to download only around 660 MB). So, either I reset my AW and lose all the health data, or I won't update. Really, Apple?

Your health data is backed up on your phone when you reset your AW. It will come back after the reset.

Unfortunately, Activity trackings and streaks are gone after the reset. I reset my watch a few times already and it never worked for me.

1. It works perfectly while wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet. This is a great feature for those of us who ride.
2. I have traveled to Japan an average of 6 times a year for 20 years before the pandemic. Once travel there resumes again, they will surely be using masks in public into the foreseeable future- their use has always been widespread anyway, during pollen season or when a person has a cold.

It's worth noting that Unlock with Apple Watch only works for unlocking the iPhone. It does not verify identity for use with Apple Pay, passwords in Keychain, or password-protected apps, which will require either Face ID or your passcode.

Don’t use the feature then. I’m betting TouchID will be back in iPhone 13. Then you can complain about how you need to spend $XXXX to get TouchID back or something like that.

You two need to move a Red state and you can start living a normal life again. Just be sure to leave any blue politics you might have back in the state you came from.
 
i have found that after my update (iphone 11 & Series 4), this feature will not work for me. I have restarted both products and still, nothing. I also noticed that a lot of my watch faces have been removed. Not sure what my issue is but I am wondering if anyone has ran into this as well? OR maybe might have a fix?
 
Great, but it won’t unlock any apps that require Face ID (eg 1Password)…. so that’s pretty lame.
