Makes perfect sense. Because of the Mac Neo’s price she can now afford a pair of Max headphones AND an Apple One subscription. Well….at least Mommy and Daddy can afford both now.

Don’t forget the Apple One subscription.

I wonder if a kid even wants any of this?

iCloud: whatever
ATV: not much on there, and they are on TikTok, YT, IG, etc all the time instead anyhow
AM: They probably use and prefer spotify or YT
Arcade: lol -- no notes
Fitness: Cringe abandonware
News: See Arcade above

Fun irrelevant fast. NEO is also an acronym used in astronomy that means near earth object. I’m sure there’s a joke to be made. 🤔

We wanted something that felt fun and friendly, and fresh, and felt like it really suited the spirit of this product," said Colleen Novielli, a Mac product marketing director.

Talk about stealing a living 🙄

This student has a $599 laptop and $549 AirPod max. Please apple, check your pictures as this does not make sense
At least they don’t have her wearing an Apple Watch Ultra with a Pro Max laying on the bed.

My guess is that they want people thinking that even people who can afford to spend for the best still want this laptop.

She probably can't wait to fold it up and go back to her iPhone in a couple minutes.

Marketing is becoming a bit nonsensical nowadays. For me it would’ve made sense to refresh the feelings about the old MacBook: light, portable, etc etc
Give some consideration to the idea that feelings about the old MacBook don’t really matter. The target audience for this device was young during the life of the last MacBook (discontinued almost 7 years ago). Many might not have even been alive during the life of the original one.

The new marketing seems like it is supposed to be fun and interesting, to captivate teens and young adults entering college.

Did they add those white keys to make it look ugly? looks great until you see they keys.
They’re tone-matched and actually it’s the only aspect of this hardware design that is decent. Of course, Apple ruined it with those chunky black bezels.

The boring and fingerprinty black MacBook keys are like the scourge of cheap nasty piano black in car interiors these days

I love how Apple executives "talk", because they think every interaction is a quotable event

The question was "why the name Neo", and the answer was quotable spec sheet

"MacBook Neo is new, exciting, original, and HERE," said Apple's marketing chief Greg Joswiak .... "With a beautiful aluminum design, 13-inch Liquid Retina display, 16 hours of battery life, and the power of Apple silicon, you'll fly through everyday tasks. It'll be love at first Mac."

Hey Joz want to get a burger?

"A burger is a delicious on trend food item " said Apple's marketing chief Greg Joswiak .... "with delicious all beef patties, a potato bun, and an appetizing visual, it can be ordered on the new iPhone 17e using an app from the App Store which had over 1.5 billion downloads last year. It is perfect for human sustenance"

... uh, yah, dude, I am just asking if you wanna go get a burger

Like I've never, ever, heard these people just talk like normal humans

It’s totally apparent that Apple has shifted from an innovation comany at it’s core. They are clearly more focused on 'what can we do with these parts'.

I guess I will be the Debbie downer here. I just don't see this. Young people and kids are growing up with touch. I just don't see how this flies with them when you have something like this (currently $399 at Costco):
