First???

I just finished optimiziing and iCal is installed. Strange it puts no icon in the dock. It is located in the apps folder. Seems pretty standard for a calander app. Will post more as i play with it.

All done.

And it works! muhahaha!

Yes indeed, Arn, you are apparently the most powerful force on the Internet...able to crash major websites at a moment's notice with a couple of innocuous sentences.

heh... slashdot could certainly crush us.

...and may have something to do with the thousands of other mac users looking for a live feed. :)

irmongoose, that looks that the most useless dock I have ever seen. What's the point?

-Stu

Crazy dock!

Now that is surely the craziest dock I have ever seen (look at the image posted above of iCal!)

Intrests

Well, I am happily suprised by the publish features of iCal. It allows a person to publish a calnder to either .Mac OR! a web server. Meaning .Mac is not absolutly needed to take full advantage of iCal! Yeah!

Yeah, I saw the register option and checked it out. It is very generic and actually asks which Apple product to register. It gives all Apple products as a choice (hardware and software)

Also note the "Provide iCal Feedback" menu, that as of now is a dead link

Curious.

Yah... it led me to a page.. which said Register Apple Product (doh!)...

Weird..... so is iCal going to have some features only available to paying users? That'll suck...

P.S. I like how the icon in the dock changes according to the real date..

I saw that, and published it on my .mac, but what settings do i put in for my server? Obviously i know my log in details, but do i need to do a /home.ics for example - it says it won't work!

I still think Entourage looks a lot cleaner...

(Admittedly, I haven't got "Jag-Wire" yet - so I'm stuck with Entourage until I upgrade - just waiting on Eskape Labs to update their MyTV drivers to work with 10.2...)

Can't find any more info anywhere on keynote....

...bugger.

Please don't tell me Steve flew all the way to France to open the gates to iCal?!?!!? Surely the keynote's over now, or will there be "one more thing"?

looks like that's it......

and USA mac users complain when we ONLY get speed bumped powerbooks, or only a bigger iPod - what do us Brits/Euros get - iCal. And iCal alone aparently.

God help us. Don't me wrong, it rules, but PLEASE! iCal, iPhone, iNeedAKnewToy!!!!!

Please let the one more thing be iMovie 3!

Apple would make me so happy if they updated iMovie!
Things like better titles!
Real Time effects.... Or at least faster rendering!
Maybe "SCROLLBARS" for the transitions and effects!
Better Video Quality!
The ability to do two effects to one clip... For instance make it black and white then add a water ripple.... Without exporting and importing again!
Better Firewire disk support! What goog are external firewire drives if the mac looses them or can't keep up!

P.S. I am not mac bashing! I love the mac and truley feel it's the best platform for video editing... These are just my suggestions to make it even better!

he, you promised it for early september, steve

yippee, i suppose... that'll be just in time for october BT PowerBooks, and... iPhone?

However - can ANYONE get a calendar on their own server? what's the trick, it wont work for me!!!!?!?!???!

Ridiculous - a complete waste of time.

The only excuse that I can make for the pisspoor turnout of new products is that Apple didn't want any prospective new releases of software or hardware to be lost in the system, especially when the 1st Anniversary of the September 11 disasters are going to be covered by every news station on the planet tomorrow...
