Did you get it fixed? I need to get mine fixed... If so, how much did they charge you?

No I didn´t, I looked up the aprox cost of replacing the part, which is about 300dls plus service, and decided instead to purchase a $15dls laptop hd usb enclosure and get all my data from the ibook and place it in a new machine, be it a ibook, powerbook or whatever I decide to purchase this week. Purchasing such an expensive part for a computer that is really on its last legs is not worth it IMHO.

When is the question and answer session

It was originaly posted that the Paris keynote was cancelled and that Jobs would host a question and answer session instead. Is this still the case and what time was this session scheduled.

Maybe Apple will unveil the new hardware then,

i really hope that there are new powerbooks tomorrow but me thinks that, it is only goin to be a .Mac update....aye. It says on www.mac.com that the next update will be 'appening at exactly the same time as the Expo...sorry me Mateys.

Did they say that Jobs was hosting the Q&A? I thought it just said that Apple would have one...

this now on .mac:

Mac will be undergoing scheduled maintenance from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm PST on 9/19/05. All .Mac services will be affected. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Alright! At least one or the other, if not both!

And if we do see higher resolution displays on the PB, perhaps we'll gradually see them in iMacs and ACDs as well?
I agree-PB updates would be nice, and I guess we'll see better ACD and iMac/iBook screens later too.

Originally it was released that Steve Jobs would still be at the expo and that he would host a Q&A session. However I never heard if this was actually confirmed.

Apple store US shows following:

iBook - Estimated Ship: 1-3 business days
PowerMac (Dual 2.7 only): Estimated Ship: 2-4 business days

Everything else is 24 hours.

I doubt an educational machine is going to get a better processor than the pro notebook.

Considering my Mac mini is 80MHz below my 12" PowerBook, nothing would surprise me.

Something's coming

Obviously something new is coming. And something not too major or too interesting (MP PowerMacs are major but do not make a good keynote) beacuse the keynote was replaced with a Q&A. So what could it be?

- Powerbook - Yes, please.
- PowerMac MP - Yes, please.
- BT Mighty Mouse - What, I can dream, can't I?
- New iPods - 2006. The line-up should now be finalized for christmas.
- iWork 06/iLife 06 - Are coming in 2006.
- Intel - Is coming to Mac mini/iBook at Macworld.
