I found the G4 was a great design IMO, just got along for too long in it's current form. I mean, give the G4 the cash for developpement and give it a 90 - 60 nm process, dual core, a memory controler, more cache and it's a damn beast.
I agree. Lack of clock speed a bit of a problem. The biggest is the front side bus speed. More cache and the memory controller onboard, bump the clock up a bit ... and Freescale would have a great processor to put in a mini.

ah alright.....my bad......so if something is announced/released/updated, itd be first thing tomorrow (relatively) and not like tomorrow or later in the day tomrorow

it has nothing to do with the .mac service because in my friends in france and britain aren't havin a problem at all

someone IM me if you wanna chat aboot this, i'll be on all night: "hackyourmacaroni"

and wouldn't it be funny if the product update isn't until tomorrow or the day after? or the thing at the booth is just so we'll all site here and speculate all night long, proving our loyalty to apple, and stupidity?

It doesn't necessarily have to be only about .mac. It could be one of the updates we'll be seeing tomorrow. Let's hope we see a more reasonable price and lots more storage that will convince me to get an account. I mean, c'mon, yahoo gives you 1GB of mail space. And even hotmail gives you 250MB for free.

Some people who quikly looked under the black cloth describe two new "things" FLAT and GRAY on the poster. The first thing is clear gray and the second dark gray. Two different size.
It look like closed laptops (no screen) with new colours.

Flat and Dark Grey? Could it be an updated XServe?

hackyourmacaroni and myself are currently chatting on AIM waiting for updates/announcements , if you guys are interested AIM hackyourmacaroni and we'll setup a AIM chatroom so we dont have to refresh as often on the macrumors forums :)

Upgrade

I just ordered a 2.7 power mac, last week (It is supposed to arrive tommorow). i thought i remembered reading somewhere that if the line is updated within 15 days i can return for the newer model? Is this true? Does it matter that it is "custom configured"?

I want a new PB!

So after 3 years my Thinkpad A31 is finally starting to hit the dust. You know you need a new laptop when it costs twice as much to fix it as you would get if you sold the darn thing! Here's to hoping for new PB's in the morning...I'm looking forward to purchasing my first Apple!!!! WOOHOO!!! Good riddance Windows, hello gorgeous Mac OS X! :D

This is really not a good time to have just had my iBook shipped and waiting for my TNT tracking code to start working, is it?

Actually, I think they're replacing the Mac Mini with the Mac Nano. The whole computer is .25" thick, and comes in a slate grey (half way between the iPod Nano's white and Black). :p

Nah you'll be right. I reckon this is just a powerbook speed bump and they've just covered the whole laptop section cause it's easier than covering half of it. iBooks were updated only a short time ago - bit silly to do it again now. Apple would like a bit more space between the lappys so they can differentiate more and sell more Powerbooks.
