Nah you'll be right. I reckon this is just a powerbook speed bump and they've just covered the whole laptop section cause it's easier than covering half of it. iBooks were updated only a short time ago - bit silly to do it again now. Apple would like a bit more space between the lappys so they can differentiate more and sell more Powerbooks.

I hope so. Cheers for sending some positive vibes my way!

Yikes! Just purchased.

Ok, I know this has been asked a bagillion times, but I just purchased a 12" PowerBook with Super Drive. Is there an Apple policy on upgrades? Is this even possible?

If you've literally just purchased it and it's still on it's way to you, then you're most likely going to get the updated model, if it's sitting in front of you and you're using it now you'll have to take it up with Apple. I think there's a 14 day return window and if it's been opened they'll charge you a re-stocking fee or something. If you got it BTO then it might be a bit more difficult.

If I were you I'd just be stoked I had the best portable laptop going around. These things are always updated and changed it's just the nature of the beast. On the other hand, if they change the form factor you'll look even cooler - a sort of retro appeal will now adorn your PB, like when you see someone with a TiBook or a Pismo, you know they're no newbie when it comes to the Mac.

Wow, and only 2 hours before the show starts.

No wonder they cancelled the keynote, Steve is now introducing new products via a newbie screen name in forums.

Thats gonna save a lot of money from not having to rent the Moscone Center.
