Monopolies are generally considered anything over 50% share. it doesn't really matter if it's 51% or 99% and the more important issue is anticompetitive practices that would be alleged.
Simply not true. Read the whole judgement in Apple vs. Epic.

Then don't buy iPhones with iOS15.
The government has a different take on the situation.
The one who came up with gas analogy was you. And it has no relevance as with phones, the consumables are the minutes/internet quota, which is provided by carriers, and you can use iPhones on any carrier.
What does the fact iPhones have carries have anything to do with the matter? Cars have dealerships. Does that matter?

The government has a different take on the situation.
A report submitted to one branch of one part of the US government is hardly “the government’s take.”

All that matters is legislation passed and signed into law, something Congress has essentially forgotten how to do.

What I like about Apples App Store on IOS. Very difficult for a phishing email to install software. The Mac, very easy for those type of apps to install. Last year alone the Mac had a 40% increase in malware. For you folks who say, see the Mac has no problems. While the IOS recorded few and of those few most were from side loading. If the changes are implemented, I would like to see something like Chrome has. The user would need to change a system setting every time to load apps from outside of Apples App Store. What I hope will happen, Apple will look at the really good developers apps and implement their own version. No more playing nice to the developers that do not use the App Store. Let’s start with a calculator for the iPad. I will pay a premium for any app Apple produces.

Walmart stores have more than one competitor. Apple's platform does not.
Both Apple and Walmart have solid significant competition. Microsoft before its spanking had driven the combined market for competitors into the mid single digits.

The FTC has an active investigation into Apple's Appstore practices. There are plenty of existing antitrust laws on the books for the FTC to apply.

Yes and no. The true first App Store was Installer which was then followed by Cydia and then Apple's AppStore. Curious note, the AppStore's first logo is actually quite identical to Installer and Cydia. The AppStore also took elements from both Cydia and Installer.
well installer was the first thing that allowed you to install apps on your iPhone. Cydia was the first store you could install apps on iOS, but still quite impressive that both are still activly used

Have you seen their conclusion? Or will you simply assert that they will agree with yours? Investigation ≠ guilt. Even on the internet.
You said "A report submitted to one branch of one part of the US government is hardly the government’s take." I replied there is an active investigation, so clearly the government disagrees with your take to just not buy an iPhone, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered investigating if that were a solution. Asked and answered.

I'm curious who's funding his legal fees.

$5 says it's Red China, just like Epic.

He makes quite a bit of money and spends it on projects. I hear Cydia netted him about $11m annually out of which he spent the majority on other projects (I do not have a source for this other than a Reddit post).

I think you meant ”asked and blathered.” Also, if your, well, for the sake of argument we’ll call it logic, prevailed, there would be no point in ever doing an investigation of any kind. Here in the real world, conclusions aren’t preordained before the investigation even begins. In your world they apparently are.

And the winner are all the Lawyers, they will get a good % right after Apple's defense failure.?
Apple better command their Devs to start hitting the keys hard and don't waste time with emojis, the deadline for the implementation will be set strict and tight.

Who said the conclusion was preordained? You're inventing arguments and then using them to argue against yourself with them.

Cydia is the living proof that Apple users (who want to) can easily handle multiple app stores and/or third party apps. If I am clever enough to know what and what not to download on my Macbook and Windows computer, I am sure can handle it on my iOS device too. Open the gates, Tim.

Uh

Piracy isn’t good for developers.

Neither is piracy with malware.
