Since my fitness watch is a Garmin, I’m glad to see that you can just watch the videos without an Apple Watch. I do wish they had some sort of workout calendar/ training program built in. I know you can save workouts to a list, but it would be a great feature to build in some sort of program scheduling.

I just tried the absolute beginners workout and had a blast!
Can't wait for tomorrow morning when I can start my first ever fitness regime! :)

They are out there. My wife bought this one on Amazon and out of the box the paper work makes it clear that you NEED the subscription for it to work but it's a straight up lie. The reviews on Amazon say the same thing.
Will it support a connection to an app to control if one does not have an iFit subscription? I want to have it pair with an app to control speed, etc. but from what I understood, that was only for iFit.

My wife swears by the Peloton and the app. I asked her if she'd try out Fitness+ and she didn't even consider it (she owns a Apple Watch too). She's an avid user of the bike and the app, so she doesn't mind the subscription fee. Though I think the monthly subscription price is totally absurd as well, but Peloton has it's legion of dedicated followers.
I would not even get her to look at it until they have added some of the multi-user and hardware integration features. Give it six months or a year, then check.

I wish there was a way to turn off the annoying (to me) music in the workouts. Better yet, let us choose our own genre.

I'll be using it alongside Peloton.

Apple are missing a trick by not doing live classes. Peloton definitely makes you push harder in real time.

It's psychological as well when the trainers give shoutouts to those who have reached milestones.

Plus, you really do need a leaderboard to help you benchmark your workout against others.

All in good time I guess...
To each their own I guess - I use the Peloton App with my IC4 and haven't found a lack of motivation by doing the on demand classes.

I force closed the App Store on iPad and was finally able to download it! I was going to start a workout on my iPhone but it didn't want to pair with my Watch (annoying). It paired great with the iPad though...

Guess I'll be buying an Apple TV because it's awkward even on iPad trying to move it around when I'm on the ground or standing, etc. Annoying that you can't even mirror the workout via AirPlay though.

No clue, honestly but i very much doubt it. We just use the face buttons and works just fine when doing in door runs with our Apple Watch or Peloton runs.

This currently can’t compete with peloton. You can’t eve airplay to a tv.
Yup, and the first iPhone software release did not support cut and paste. It is great for Peleton that Apple never innovates nor iterates, so they should be fine. :)

Its a good app so far - I have also downloaded to my iPad Air 2 (first gen - search for Fitness+ in the App Store) and like the way that when you watch the exercises on the iPad, all your stats sync across to your iPhone also.

I don't have Apple TV and my Samsung TV doesn't support Airplay so I have to make do to watching on my iPad.

Only niggle I have is that there are no 25 minute workouts so you have to choose either a 20 minute or 30 minute session but other than that, it looks great and good that current Apple Watch owners get to have the first month free.

14.3 is out. I've got the Fitness+ on my iPhone now. I also upgraded my iPad but can't find the app anywhere, so I'm curious as to how that works.

I won't be able to get my workout in until probably 5 hours from now (still working) but I'm looking forward to trying it out tonight.

I'm in the same boat re: the iPad. The link on the Fitness+ website takes me to the listing for the phone app which isn't compatible with my iPad (10.5" Pro).

Same here. I managed to get to a page on the iPad app store which listed an iPad Activity app but said (at the top) something like “This app requires features not available on this iPad”. As this was on a 2018 iPad Pro seems something must be wrong to me...

12.9 inch iPad Pro (2020) with iOS 14.3 - So, what’s the deal? This isn’t gonna work if I have to use my iPhone.

Not working on iPad

Think this is known issue for everybody else

...that's weird that you guys can't get the app to work on your new iPads??

I have a first gen iPad Air 2 (2014 I think) and it works for me. I just had to search for Fitness+ in the App Store and its in there.

It’s a real shame this is not on the Mac! I have one of my Mac mini connected to my living room tv. Which is the screen where I would want to use it. Let’s hope they get this sorted soon.
The next release of macOS will obviously be UI and any further Mx optimisations.

However, alongside that I suspect this will be the release where Apple brings all of its iOS apps to iPadOS - and MacOS (where it makes sense).

(Oh and stops maintaining separate macOS only versions of apps like Notes etc.).

Health and Fitness are surely on this list.

Has anyone done a treadmill workout yet? Would it be possible to replicate a treadmill workout by running outside instead?
