Actually, the Watch is the gate, iOS/iPadOS/tvOS just come with it. The watch has all the sensors need to make it work.Asinine that it requires an apple watch for use. I get the iOS gate, but then gating it further....

Peloton offers a streaming service for $13 a month. At 10 bucks a month Much better alternative to peloton which is absurd.
It is ~$35 a month if you own one of these bikes...Peloton offers a streaming service for $13 a month.
Completely agree. I want the most basic console, just enough to pair with my Apple Watch for app control of the device (or better yet, controlled by my Apple TV).I spent most of my year looking for a reasonably priced treadmill, designed for adult humans, that doesn't have a built in subscription. I don't need a screen between me and my TV.
By using the iphone?Gosh, I hope not. How do you securely sync health data on an advertising platform?
I bought a 4K for my sister for Christmas. They had been using the AT3 I got them in 2012. Over thanksgiving my brother in law was showing me his new TV and I couldn't help cringe over the fact that they had a Roku, AT3, and Fire Stick plugged in the back. And even with all that they still used the built in apps because each platform was missing one or two channels they liked.I would appreciate it if you went and bought one today. I really want a new one and if your purchase will get them to release it, that would be great!![]()
fitness + is a plain copy of existing apps. When is Apple going to innovate again?
Apple's new Fitness+ workout service launches later today, and ahead of time, some media outlets and YouTube channels have shared their first impressions of the platform. We've gathered up some opinions and videos below.

CNET's Vanessa Hand Orellana trying out Apple Fitness+
As a refresher, Fitness+ will provide users with access to a library of workout videos covering strength, yoga, dance, running, walking, cycling, rowing, and more, with new content delivered each week from a team of trainers hired by Apple. Fitness+ integrates personal metrics such as heart rate from the Apple Watch to motivate users, animating them on the screen during key moments in the workout.
Priced at $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, Fitness+ requires iOS 14.3, iPadOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, and tvOS 14.3, coming later today. The service will be available through a new tab in the Fitness app on iPhone, while iPad users will be able to get the Fitness app from the App Store. On the Apple TV, the Fitness app will automatically appear once users install tvOS 14.3. The service requires an Apple Watch Series 3 or later.
CNET's Vanessa Hand Orellana notes that Apple Watch integration helps set Fitness+ apart from competitors, as does its "beginner-friendly" approach that provides users with both standard and beginner variants of exercises:Hand Orellana believes that Fitness+ is a "no-brainer" for Apple Watch users, although she said it is not the best option for very experienced exercisers looking for personalized feedback on form, as the service seems to be targeted at a broader audience:The Wall Street Journal's Nicole Nguyen believes that Fitness+ is a "great value," but she found it doesn't quite stack up to Peloton's workout service. One advantage to Fitness+ is that workout videos can be downloaded and played offline:Fast Company's Mark Sullivan believes that most Fitness+ workouts are best viewed on a TV, rather than on an iPad or iPhone:Apple Fitness+ will be available later today in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Apple is offering a one-month free trial to all users, and an extended three-month trial to customers who purchased a new Apple Watch Series 3 or newer after September 15, 2020.Videos

How does it get to the TV securely if it has to go through a Microsoft or Google platform?By using the iphone?
Save money and buy an alternative bike. The BowFlex and Schwinn are great, and your cadience and heart rate show up on the iPad. The main reason I would not buy the Peloton is the high monthly charge. It is ~$35 a month if you own one of these bikes...
Never they are done with that noise. They’re doomed. 🙄fitness + is a plain copy of existing apps. When is Apple going to innovate again?
And based on the price of the wheels for the Mac Pro, the AirPods Pro and the monitor stand, I shudder to imagine what they will charge for them. It will make peloton etc look like a bargain basement product. 🤣If this is a success, which I am sure it will be it won't be long before Apple start providing the same equipment as Peleton, they are going to challenge them for the same space.
series 3 or betterAsinine that it requires an apple watch for use. I get the iOS gate, but then gating it further....
How long did you spend trying it?I already cancelled it. It’s not worth $10/mo.
Plus the moves are too hard and all the beautiful people make me feel like a loser.
Yes. Peloton is an entire platform, with an app-only membership that gets you the entire library. You won't have access to the real-time metrics, leaderboard, etc. with just the app, but there is still a ton of outstanding content and some of the best instructors in the business.Peloton without bikeis an alternative?
The treadmill workouts seem to track distance somehow so i wonder if you start a treadmill workout outside what it'll do....I wish they had outdoor running workouts. If done correctly, you could do some cool stuff with HIIT using only audio.
What kind of multi-user support are you looking for? Maybe I'm missing something, but if everyone has their own apple ID it already has 6 user support.I expect this to be the another 1.1, 1.5 or 2.0 feature (along with multi-user/group support).
Hes looking for the ability I am looking for. What kind of multi-user support are you looking for? Maybe I'm missing something, but if everyone has their own apple ID it already has 6 user support.

I'm interested in this as well. I have an old Garmin 310XT with speed and cadence sensors, but it's old ANT+ instead of Bluetooth tech so it doesn't connect to my Apple Watch during workouts.
I've been looking at Bluetooth Wahoo-style speed / cadence sensors, but they're all really confusing, I think some you have to buy two to get both speed AND cadence, another one it's "flip the battery over" for speed OR cadence, etc. I'd like to know which one would work with Apple Watch, particularly for Fitness+.
I've just been doing "indoor cycling" on Apple Watch which gives me heart rate and time, and then letting Garmin track the speed/cadence during my workout so I can look down and see how fast I'm going, especially in the big boy gears.
Ah I see, side by side workouts. Yes that would be a great feature!Hes looking for the ability I am looking for.
My wife and I work out at the same time and it would be great to have the apple TV recognize both of our watches and show our stats on either side of the screen. Her apple ID is part of my family sharing so I hope this functionality is coming soon.
They are out there. My wife bought this one on Amazon and out of the box the paper work makes it clear that you NEED the subscription for it to work but it's a straight up lie. The reviews on Amazon say the same thing.I spent most of my year looking for a reasonably priced treadmill, designed for adult humans, that doesn't have a built in subscription. I don't need a screen between me and my TV.
