I love 1Password, but I still find it amazing that after all these years, Apple's own Keychain Access utility still languishes in utter obscurity. Forgot a certain password? It's probably saved in your Login keychain.

It's the same password they use for the AppStore. Really, you'd think they could remember it!

Yeah, that was my thought exactly. I find myself typing in my password at least once a day. Before iOS 6 came out, I had to type them in at least 3-4 times a day for a given update. It's silly.

Really? Show me the 'study' that shows Mac users have higher IQs, and I hope it doesn't include yours, cause you don't seem too bright yourself

I know first hand. And he happens to be correct. Well, kind of. iMac customer base on average is a lot smarter/technically savvy than the iPhone crowd. A lot more tactful too.

----------

I would hate to be an Apple employee working the phones right now. I just can't imagine how many stupid people must be calling. I know Mac users have been shown to have higher IQs, but I'm sure it's the opposite with iPhone users.

Yep. 75% of the people that call AppleCare are dumb.

Keychain Access

Keychain Access stores every password you've ever saved.

At least for Mac users, losing a password shouldn't be an issue.

Provided you save when entering it, of course.

The Windows/Mac IQ study was a hoax, but I believe there was one that compared IE and Chrome/Safari users. 5-6 point advantage for those not using IE, but that's totally within the margin of error for the 1k people they said they surveyed.

----------

Normal people (non-techies that have little interest in how their hardware/software works) do not remember passwords.

They also seldom sync, even rarer do they back up.

Most people, call them stupid* if you will, see passwords and syncing/backing up as a complete afterthought.

*We're talking about your parents, friends that only use a computer at work and tablet at home, your spouse, etc. Stupid isn't the correct term, but it's all I can think of right now.

Assuming that everything will always be just fine, i.e. careless may be the word

For the most part the password i use for everything is the same only with a few characters added/switched etc.

LOL, I know I increased the difficulty of my password after that story. To be truthful, my iTunes account was my weakest password up to that point (except for internet forums). But I didn't forget my password when it came time to setup my iPhone 5. :p

Is there a way to reset the security answers? My son set his up and doesn't remember..... Ugh!

Yes, I know all of the other information/answers. I just can't figure out how to reset the security answers.

Dont worry. Was not near as bad as the post above yours.

He is talking about his personal experience with customers as an employee at the store. It wasn't emotionally charged and didn't have any negative overtones. Did you forget your password? You're being awfully hostile.

You would be correct, I was using the mobile version. But now I have. Would you like for me to assume owning Apple products means you have been in an Apple Store lately? That's a jump.

You commented that I was probably one of them was before you had all the facts and before you made the comment about the Apple store. Boy you really are a genius. Based upon your comments in this post alone, I hope by your own failed logic that you 'only own an iPhone'.

How dumb can one be from Amazon or anyone else

Credit Card's and all information should all be encrypted. My own software has every single field encrypted that has any kind of information belonging to a Patient. That is HIPPA required. Unless you know any kind of information related to the encrypted data, you are not going to get anything at all.
Plus, I use the persons IP address as a reference. And if he is coming in from a different IP address, I have a security question that pops up. And all security question fields are completely encrypted. So, unless you know what is the question and the answer, you will be forwarded a text message to your phone, stating that someone is requesting a password reset. Or that someone other than you is trying to come in under a different IP address.
That my friend is security. Now coming from these Multi Corporations that is ********

No I did not forget my password and ONLY quoted him because he said he was not wanting to sound out of line. I told him he was not. Not harsh at all. I was only being harsh to the other guy who claims iPhone ONLY people have a lower IQ. I had no problem with the other guys comment.

1. Why did you place "study" in quotes?
2. It's "Because", not "cause".
3. It's "You're" not "Your" - I'm just assuming you're one of those people.

If you're calling other people out on their intelligence, you may want to check your own.

Ah. nod nod*

why did you include #3?

By one of them I meant one of the people who forgot their iCloud password, the topic of the thread btw. Boy you really are a genius.

Ios6

This is what gets me. How do people not know there passwords? Unless they stopped using an iPhone for a while. For people like my father though that only update app's on there phone with the new ios6 it does not require you to remember your password anymore.

I can see him forgetting even faster. I feel there should be a better way to retrieve your password.

No you did not because even in your reply you wrote that even you own an iPhone and nothing about an iCloud password. You obviously cannot even remember what you typed a page ago. I am done with you, you are silly.

I think iPhone users are above the world average. Anyone who uses that kind of technology is.

He got me PO'd. That's about the only reason.

I didn't see where he incorrectly used Your. At least in the text you quoted. His use of your was correct.

Either way, overall point was agreeable though. I stumbled over his use of cause instead of because. I scraped my knee up a bit and forgot what his point was.

Lol, you're one of those? If you want to play smart, at least read the full sentence. It's "your" as in something that belongs to you, not you're short for you are.
