No way the'll cater for local models at that price point. It will be a cloud device. A higher-end one might (which is presumably why they're bulking it up with robotic arms etc), but expect to start paying iPad money at least for that.
I hope they do because it will sell in the amount of the AVP when they do. In my opinion it’s dead on arrival or they may find an opportunity for the robot arm to wank you 😂

It's really cool to wake up early, a winter Saturday morning, snow is falling, and I can see "Low Cost Devices" and Apple in the same sentence 🤗
The world is peaceful, and all these unicorns in the woods are so beautiful.

Yah baby!
When I see a post about upcoming Apple low-cost devices, it may as well have my name in the title

Usually, the budget stuff they make is what I get most interested in
🤣

I have a Samsung smart TV and I tried an Android TV: nothing compares to Apple TV anyway.

I used to think this until I spent a weekend installing a third-party launcher and dialing in the settings on a Google box

The flexibility is amazing and you can actually make it even better than an Apple TV (subjectively) as you can have it only showing you what you want or need and also customize the remote buttons

If the iPad 11 keeps that price tag, while being equipped with the Apple Intelligence minimum requirements (I.e. A17 Pro with 8GB of RAM) it will be an insane value and one of the best tablets in price/performance ratio.

On the other hand, that Apple TV will be extremely attractive if it’s priced so aggressively, although it would be nice if it came equipped with 8GB of RAM.

All of their devices are reasonably priced. All of their devices also happen to be useless for me.
  • MacBook Air (M4) - Temporal dithering causes headaches and eye strain.
  • iPhone SE (fourth generation) - OLED PWM will cause eye strain and headaches.
  • iPad (11th generation) - Temporal dithering causes eye strain and headaches.
  • AirTag (second-generation) - Not sure what I'd do with this.
  • Command Center - Don't even know what this is.
  • HomePod mini (second generation) - Subpar speaker that requires owning a headache and eyestrain causing product in order to operate it.
  • Apple TV 4K (fourth generation) - Don't own or watch TV.
  • Apple Watch SE (third-generation) - Stopped wearing a watch over a decade ago.

My wife's and my Gen. 2 iPhone SE's are beginning to become a bit long in the tooth, so we may be on board for the new iPhone SEs.

Same with my Gen. 1 Apple Watch SE, and its battery capacity is down to 74%. I've been holding off getting the battery replaced—waiting to see what the Ultra 3 looks like. I use my Watch heavily, and I'd like a lot more runtime capacity.

Because the A series chips are plenty fast for what the AppleTV actually does. It is as fast as Macs were a few years ago.

The problem with the AppleTV is that everyone is already building these features into TVs, so adding this doesn't do much extra beyond adding another remote control to loose.
I love our 4k ATV's. Work much better, with better integration than the spying apps on the TV's

Apple will never succeed in games, they have been trying since at least 1996 and are getting nowhere.
I disagree with the statement that Apple "have been trying". Every effort from Apple for gaming has been more marketing than functionality.

Apple seems to think that if they say something like "Apple has games" in their marketing that the masses will come to Apple. Then when the masses don't come, Apple gives up for some years, then rinse and repeat.

Apple has never been all-in for gaming. Apple gaming is and has always been a joke. They have the perfect platform, but gaming has always been beneath Apple. Now that they need a revenue stream they are still trying the old failed marketing ploys.

Those of us that have been around Apple for a few years know that Apple will drop gaming in a heartbeat if something else takes off.
