Why in the world are you doing any kind of math based on the assumption that everyone is buying iPhones that cost $2k? That's utter nonsense. Even a maxed out Pro Max is only $1400 and relatively few of those are being sold versus cheaper models. Even adding Apple Care with theft and loss and tax gets you to only $1800 or so.

If you take the numbers there at face value, then well over half of iPhones sold are between $400 and $980. And that is US-only sales data at launch, the time and place the largest proportion of high-end, pricey devices move. Your take is simply awful.

Those numbers show that fewer than 30% of phones are for the budget variants.

I'm also factoring in having a cellular data plan in naming the price as $2K. I haven't researched this, but I'd guess that iPhones end up with more expensive data plans on average, given the faster modems and higher resolution screens/cameras.

At RF RADIATION levels well over the proper limits. Thats an awful lot of Brain Head or Neck Cancer.

NO THANKS!

Thats why I went back to a Samsung NOTE 8 lowest RF RADIATION phone other than a NOTE 1st Generation .17 RF RADIATION vs 1.0 for the current iPhone 12 model.
Buy what you want. Be happy with your purchase.

I didn't say budget variants, I said models between $400 and $980. That would include The 8/8+, XR, 11, SE, and 12. That comprises about half of the volume. You also didn't say anything about including the cost of phone plans when you said "dropping $2K on a phone." Also seems odd to include the phone service costs in trying to calculate iPhone sales figure possibilities. Very much a case of GIGO with that kind of data, so it's not exactly shocking that you're at a loss with your numbers versus what was posted in the article. You also fail to account for common carrier deals like buy one, get one.

Please, keep in mind that I agree with your point, but I don’t think it’s fair to count the data plan. You still have to pay your carrier if you use an older phone.

“Forecast”, not “forecasted”.

If you aren’t sure how to conjugate a verb, you can look it up online.
