Apple "Genius" dropped my iPhone 4. Now I have to pay to fix it!!

No way. If some Apple stores are replacing phones for free that the customer themselves dropped and broke, there is no way they wouldn't give you a free phone on spot with a long apology and free case.
What value is there in making up a story to tell to strangers you'll never meet? I don't get it? Especially on a site not affiliated with the company.

At this point it is your word against his. Ask the officer/detective if they could speak with the manager and view the security video. Good luck.
BS story. My friend's 3GS had problems with the speakerphone and they didn't even test it out, they just replaced it on the spot since the phone was a refurb from just last month. Apple's service is way better than this.
If you are so complacent that Apple dropping your phone and making you pay that you didn't even ask to speak to someone else, you deserve the broken phone.

Ok, I guess if an apple employee broke your phone in the store.....you would just walk out, no escalation, register on macrumors and post about it.

if this story is true..... prolly a little rich kid who got the phone payed for by his parents and didnt have a huge emotional attachment to the phone because he didnt spend his hard earned money on it..
or since it was his brothers iphone.... he is a terrible brother...

I got a conscious. I wouldnt be able to live knowing I put someone in jail because they dropped a phone. Again.. lettuce be reality, would you rather just pay the money than knowingly jail someone...
