I feel like apple is saying we didn't wanna put the time into getting you anything with thought put into it so we just got you a giftcard.
Sorry I'm just sad I don't get to go.

Lol, now that is too cheap, Apple. Only $25? How about a bundle package: Gift card, iPhone/iPad case, headphones, Apple TV 2, and an iPod. Something along those lines.
No hate, just poorly disguised jealousyI'm an iOS developer in high school, and I'm @harrisonw1998 who tweeted that above--I won a WWDC Student scholarship, and my school administration approved this as a fully excused absence from school, so don't hate! There are 200 student developers that won scholarships to WWDC this year.
Not everyone finds sentimental value in small objects either.

Well that's their problem. Most people do. Sad state of affairs when the only thing valuable to people has to come in large packages.![]()
Congrats and I'm happy for you! Never mind the 'old' farts here on MacRumors...![]()
For contrast, at Google's developer conference each year, everyone gets $1,000 to $1,500 ( more than it costs for the ticket) worth of gadgets, which are sometimes unique models made just for the occasion.
Even RIM used to give away Blackberry devices at their conferences.
That aside, the biggest problem is the limited tickets available for all these conferences. You'd think that with all the demand, all these big companies could do at least quarterly meeting.

From his twitter:
What does his age have to do with anything, in any case? If he's an idiot or otherwise unpleasant individual I'm not sure all the schooling in the world will help cure that.
You're in high school and you're a Conservative political strategist?
I guess it's not so surprising that Conservatives are getting their political strategy from high school students.
LOL a conservative that takes all these handouts? Exposed!
I love that people complain when they don't get free stuff and then when given free stuff complain that its not enough.

(Although that would probably require dedicated meeting employees instead of just dragging in some company developers from their jobs once a year.)
I'm open to a political discussion, but snide comments and blatant stereotypes don't help your argument at all here.

I'm not getting the point you're trying to make here.
all are pretty bad though when you do look at say Microsoft who were giving away Surface Pro 3 tablets away to their attendees.

I'm not an idiot and I'd like to think I'm not an "unpleasant individual".![]()
There's a 16-year-old attending WWDC? Shouldn't he be in school or something?![]()
And its so pointless. Every other major company (Google, Microsoft) simply has multiple developer conferences per year. It's past time for Apple to get on board so that more devs can attend.
