Apple is planning to give its Apple Store employees one-time bonuses amounting to up to $1,000, reports Bloomberg. The bonuses will be provided to employees who have been working during the ongoing global health crisis.

Retail employees who were hired before March 31, 2021 will be given $1,000, and employees who joined after that date will be given $500. Employees hired for the holiday shopping season will get $200. Apple plans to provide the bonuses to those who work in retail stores, those who do online sales, and AppleCare staff.

Apple does not often give bonuses to its retail staff. The last bonus went out in 2018 when Apple granted $2,500 in restricted stock units to most of its employees, including those working at Apple Stores. The bonuses were handed out after the introduction of new U.S. tax laws and were given to most employees below a director level.

The $1,000 bonuses will be provided as paychecks rather than as stock units like the prior bonus and are designed as a thank you to employees for their efforts during the pandemic.

Give them RAISES damnit. Apple can afford it and it would do a lot of good to be a leader in paying retail workers better wages.
It seems you know something about this subject.

What are current Apple retail salaries? How do they compare to other retail salaries?

And what is the proper salary for Apple retail workers?

Please see the question mark at the end of my post. No, I don't know nothing about retail wages, I just asked if is related to low wages, something very common in retail workers and in the US.

you're damned if you do)
Maybe its because they will get it so taxed almost 40% will be gone. There's always a catch...just like the last "bonus" $2500 in RESTRICTED stock that takes 3 years to vest....ask the employees what its like to see half your RSU's disappear the same day in taxes.......it blow!!!! Another case of unless your eon the inside you really have no business commenting, or defending the company......The make record profits the last 18-20 months all thanks to the retail staff...$1000 is a joke compared to the billions the company made....Ask employees about their mental health the last 24 or so months....and the stresses that have been working for Apple retail and I promise you 99% will agree $1000 is a joke

From what I've heard Apple pay their staff quite well and they like their job. Thanking staff this way is great news and sets an example for other companies. Look after your staff so they like working for you as they'll do a better job. everyone wins.

I don’t know. One of the managers who opened the local apple store back in 2001 was still working there the last time I was there in 2019. I’d imagine something kept him there that long.
Managers are paid COMPLETELY different that a Specialist...6 figures plus bonuses plus stock vs under $45k for FT and probably half for PT
