huh? Halo is an amazing game, get 6 friends and play a few system link multiplayer games together and then talk to me...

What is new or great about that? People have been doing that with LAN parties for years.

I think Halo has been a great FSP for consoles and really opened up the genre to the console but what is the large draw to it?

Haven't really played the series but a few times at a coworkers house while having a few drinks so really interested in feedback here. Not trying to put the game down at all.

Anyone who has played any first person shooter since Wolf3D knows that FPS games simply are not how he described, thus he is lying. That is how he made an ass out of himself. I don't care if he doesn't like FPS games, but don't lie about them to make them look bad.

I also wasn't aware that there are several people posting as a group named "powderblue17" ...

When referring to one person ... their, they? Negative.

I said in my post that I had played Halo 1 and beat it. So am I lying about having to go back through the same hallways over again to kill the same enemies all over again? I guess you have never played the game so why are you talking about something you don't know anything about. I said it was a good game but I just didn't think it was great enough to get attached to like some people have.

This is the best thread this board has ever seen. PERIOD.

hahahahha

I might have to agree with you.

It's like watching America's Funniest Home Videos.

You've only just gotten over the guy who stepped on a rake, and two seconds later, some other guy gets hit in the crotch by his kid's baseball bat...

Shut up. Shut up, shut up, shut up. My 360 died about three months ago of what was definitely a launch-defect related problem and Microsoft refused to fix it under the three-year extended warranty plan because only two red lights were showing instead of three. So I refused on principle to pay and wait 4 weeks to have it repaired, especially as they haven't yet worked out a sure permanent fix as yet.

I have a PS3, too, and it has some great games and more are coming, but definitely never, never Halo 3. Bioshock came out and I missed it, but I made it through without that one. I really hoped Halo 3 was going to be awful, just Halo 2 HD as people joked, but I've read the reviews.

You suck. Go away. I hope your 360 3RODs on you the minute you put the Halo 3 disc in. (No, seriously I don't wish that on you. It's just that after making such a dramatic stand about the warranty issue my wife would freaking kill me if I went out and dropped about $400 tonight at midnight without a care to whether the design issues are fixed or not.)

You're a pig. I hate you!

Well guys sorry to say this but my love affair with my iPhone ends tonight at midnight with the release of HALO 3.... Had Apple/Steve Jobs released Firmware 1.1.1 last week or when the iPod Touch launched, I would have immediately updated my iPhone and would have been downloading songs on the Wifi iTunes Store. Unfortunately my iPhone will now get no more attention as it will be dang near impossible to pry my xbox 360 controller out of my hands...for the next several days, weeks, months. Good job Apple!! You had an opportunity to cash in big with the Wifi iTunes...now I'll never use it...I'll be too busy listening to the greatest video game soundtrack ever... HALO 3...

General, powderblue is right. I loved the original Halo, but you did have to backtrack some after performing a task, with new, usually more formidable enemies in your way.

There's nothing innovative about it at all. The innovative things they tried to put in Halo 2 really didn't really work out. It's just mad fun. Like Gears of War, with limited online match players, ridiculous glitches, obscene network code, terrible host advantage, nasty, nasty screaming opponents and, worse, teammates. But mad fun.

I think "pathetic" thread might be the right word. The sad truth is that the OP really believes what he wrote. He clearly lacks all analytical thinking capability and is a perfect excuse for why breeding should be controlled medically.

tXbox Live and Halo 3 multiplayer allows you to play against friends, locally and globally for countless hours so you don't waste $60 like you would on a PiSS3 game....

Now you're yacking out your ass, brother. Warhawk is tremendous online. Bearing in mind I have no bias against 360 games, either.

Oh chill, Jedi, it's just a goofy break from all this firmware-update waiting doldrums, which of course we won't get until tomorrow, I think.

Ahhh that I can understand. Sometimes a game just comes down to being fun.

hey, i had the same problem too, except i think only one ring light was flashing. i at least know it wasn't the whole 3 because my system was already replaced for that. it could be because this was the second time i had an issue and the system they sent me back wasn't my original, but my system is gone right now being fixed. error code "E 74", HANA or ANA error, which is the chip that helps control the video signals. i would try calling micro$oft up again and demanding they replace it. all hell has broken loose in the past few months when it comes to what they will accept back. i was told it will take a little over a month wait time, when last time it was only a couple of weeks. they are really backed up because they are accepting all kinds of broken consoles now so they don't look bad in the press.

it sucks because it died right before bioshock was released, and now i'm expecting it will come back to me sometime later this week or early next week. either way i already have a copy reserved at gamestop that i have to pick up tonight. pretty lame micro$oft.....can't wait until apple releases the iBox or the applecube. anyone want to speculate on that? my friend has a wii with an apple sticker on the side that he calls his iBox. might as well be.

The best multiplayer fps every has to be the bond game for nintendo 64. I guess that was like 10 years ago. Now that was fun although Unreal Tournament came close but I have to many fond memories of Bond. Those are the only 2 I've played I think.

wow, from your last posts i thought you were 13. but you're 26 according to your profile. i apologize.

Can I have the 30 seconds of my life back I used to read this post? geez

and yes, I am a 360 owner, but this post is rediculous

priceless!!!!! that made my day!

That was fantastic!!

This thread should probably be moved to the games forum and renamed btw.

As far as Halo goes, I've only ever managed to get about halfway through the PC version. Its not very well programmed and makes even my Mac Pro chug at times - a big reason for me never bothering to carry on. As far as gameplay goes, well its ok but its hardly up there with the likes of Half-life, Doom, Doom II, Quake II and Goldeneye. It was *very* well marketed though. 10/10 for Microsoft on that front.

Speaking of great fps games, I wonder how long it'll be until we get a Doom or Quake native client for the iPhone?!!

Tomorrow Directv's going to start airing 60+ HD channels, so I'll ever use my iphone again!

Of course Directv never lies about their release dates. :)

knowing id, never. But I'm sure someone out there could hack it to work.

Since ID released the source codes to both aaaaages ago and there are loads of ports for all kind of different systems now (by non-ID people of course), I'm sure its only a matter of time until we see Doom for the iPhone.

All I want for iPhone gaming though is ScummVM. Alas it is but vaporware.
