This is why I wouldn't bring the iPad to a public place. Until they become as widespread as a regular iPod at least. Way too many possibilities for people to get thoughts...

Being allowed to carry a gun out of site.

Basically, if this happened in the deep south the guy would have been shot, everyone would have fired into the air in celebration and they would have all danced in the mid-day sun. Picture this-

True story.

This was in Atlanta, which is the deep south.

I walk the ten minutes to work everyday carrying my iPad 2, just with a Smart Cover. A year ago when I first started it was pretty sketchy but now I don't think about it much. There are enough people around and it is a pretty good part of town.

This is turning into to a big problem in San Francisco. Just last week I saw some guy grab someones iPhone and run off the train. It all happened so fast no one had time to react. The guy totally got away. It makes me really nervous about using my iPad on the subway. I now only do if I'm standing with my back against the doors.

Wow. Allen Iverson has sunk to a new low...

No it wouldn't. You attempt to fire on an unarmed thief not attempting to cause you personal harm with intent to maim or kill, and you'll be the one in prison for murder or attempted murder.

depends in what state. In Texas a older white guy called 911 and told them someone was robbing his neighbor's house and told them hes gonna go shoot them and than proceeded to go and shoot them with his shotgun. He got off from the grand jury.

Personally i wouldn't chase him. $1000 aint worth my life. **** your hospital bills can be more than that.

But if they break into your house, regardless if their armed or not, shoot to kill. Screw what state you live in. "its better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6"

And if your state is covered by castle law/doctrine, that makes it easier.
