In addition, Apple is said to be prioritizing work to make iPhones "more responsive" and "less prone to cause customer support issues."
Problem for Apple is that far too many users expect a new iOS on a yearly basis and expect "features" no matter how silly (animjois) or gimmicky they are.I'd rather have a solid OS that is stable and fast, rather then adding features willy-nilly.
Bring Forstall back. Problem solved.
What Apple needs to do is to increase the animation speed, or alter the way things animate so they don't look jarring when being animated at a faster rate. All they need to do is incorporate "disable animation" as a feature to improve responsiveness, just like this old "bug" used to do. Phone was slick and super responsive with "bug" enabled.

Since we do not know what features were expected in iOS12, this article is saying nothing.
Why is it one or the other? Is today’s Apple incapable of providing BOTH “New Features” and “Performance/Quality”?
You know who likes to test everything so completely? The Japanese. And let's see how Japanese companies do today. Not great at all.I'm glad that Apple is taking the time to fix the software, but how can we be sure that when they add new features again we're not back in the same position? I'd rather Apple not release anything until it's been completely tested for quality and performance.

What changed design wise between iOS 10 and 11?
agreed! iOS11 sucks! My iPad Pro and iPhone and Apple Watch are all buggy or laggy under the current versions of software! And let’s not forget, software is the one thing Apple makes ENTIRELY on their own! It is purely their own fault it’s buggy.
And it’s getting a bit tireing to update at least once a week! And it’s still buggy!
Yes I am a disgruntled user!
