These posts are what keep us set back, especially when people have no idea what they're talking about.

1) We have tweaks to deal with that banking ********.

2) No one cares about yours or my individual devices. I have not once had an issue with security and I've been jailbreaking since the iPhone 4. If security were a major problem, r/jailbreak would be dead.

3) Trickle down through apple is a great thing to call it, considering how they move at a snail's pace, yet for some convoluted reason you're not upset that someone else can make this happen faster with less resources. Even if you're not okay with jailbreaking, why are you then still not questioning this and demanding that apple actually care about the OS?

The nature of this OS environment allows you as a user to keep being willfully ignorant about your options. Stop trying to hold others back just because you're not willing to learn more.
Actually, I was jailbreaking the iPhone 3s and maybe even still have a live Cydia account ...so it seems it’s you that doesn’t have a clue what others can or can’t do. I’m not a developer, so I’m not the one holding you back (wrong again) - you can’t just throw blame around with abandon! If you’re not happy with Apple’s way of doing things, the answer is to leave, develope your own OS and stop whining about things You can’t change ...which won’t get you anywhere. You’re obviously spoilt and feel a sense of Entitlement, but just because you can afford an Apple product doesn’t mean you bought shares in the company and hold any sway in corporate decisions ...if by some miracle you do hold stock in Apple, I’d suggest you take the matter up at your next AGM - otherwise, bite me.

I'm somewhat sad about this as I have the iPhone 6 Plus and I don't think it'll be getting iOS 13 (or whatever it's going to be called). I think it'll be unsupported so I'll be on iOS 12 until I get a newer phone.

That is an absurd argument. Having desires for change or improvement from a product you support does not make you entitled, and being a company shareholder doesn't make your opinions immediately valid. I can buy one stock and call myself a shareholder but that won't make anyone more interested in what I say.

There are many other users that share this sentiment, and there's no need for us to "bite you" or shut up if we wan't something different. Tim Cook & co. don't make Apple products just for themselves.

Apple products, long before the iPhone existed, were locked down! Nothing has changed since the company was formed, so what do you think gives you the right to demand change - buying an iPhone? Let’s say there are 100 people in this topic that share your view, and none of you bought any Apple product until you’d forced a policy change, do you think Cook would miss your contribution? ...how about a thousand? ...20,000? How many abstainees would it take to tip the balance in your favour ...5million ...10million?

If you want change you’ll need to vote with your collective wallets en masse. You start, others may follow. Good Luck and GoodBye.

Personally, I think this is BS, especially given the talent Apple has access to, and the bank account they can fund it with.

in theory... Apple could use their massive cash horde to hire twice as many developers to cut their development time in half.

But I heard that it doesn't necessarily work like that in practice.

Nobody wants Forstall, arrogant prick that he is. He messed up so much that he had to be fired. Oh no, what got him fired was messing up and pretending that everything was fine.
What exactly other than Maps did he mess up so badly that you hate him so much? This guy and his team brought you basically everything that you use everyday, so little more respect from you would be great.

I think iOS 12 will only have two major changes: 1) redesigning the Notifications system to be easier to understand and use and 2) offering a true Dark Mode display. Otherwise, it's just refinements of what we already have now.
